  1. I went to NoFap’s Twitter account and saw they have the hashtag #pornaddiction in their account blurb. Well, what do you think someone with a porn addiction is going to do when they see that hashtag? Yip, that’s right, click on it. And what do you think happens when you click on the hashtag #pornaddiction on Twitter? Yip, that’s right, you get taken to untold posts that use that hashtag - 97% of them are PORNOGRAPHIC!.

You don’t get safely referred to therapy! You don’t find the magic solution to ending porn addiction. You don’t get to overcome your addiction to porn. Oh the irony!

Beware, lest you get tricked into thinking every hashtag will take you closer to your recovery goals. They don’t.

And if you do go off now and click on the hashtag #pornaddiction on Twitter all is not lost. You will now have more knowledge, and more experience to make a more informed choice the next time you’re on Twitter.

Perhaps the only good that can come from having such a hashtag is that maybe, just maybe, a porn addiction will click the hashtag elsewhere on Twitter and be linked to NoFap. What are the chances?

    Oh be wise!

  2. Is Twitter becoming host to more and more porn? Me thinks so.

Stay away from Twitter. Problem solved. Nothing good is coming from Twitter anyways, so why even go there. That's how I do it.

  4. Well said. And I accept the advice. However, it's hard to stay away! LOL Addicts want their fix and they go after it despite their world, body, mind and soul falling apart. I'm not saying I'm that addicted to Twitter but once I log in it's hard to not click on links that will lead me into the fire. But here goes! I'm going to commit to staying away from Twitter for 7 days. I will delete my links to Twitter. I will not click on a Twitter link when I see it.

Thank you @IR254. You inspired me.

  5. I agree with @IR254! Besides a lot of P on Twitter, it is a place where almost everyone is angry. Too much negativity and can make people anxious and angry. I stay away from it.

Wow, I didn't imagine that when I wrote my comment. But that's great. As @Kingfisher said, Twitter is not only filled with porn but also with insane negativity everywhere. I once used Twitter A LOT too, but it really influenced my mood on a daily basis. I became angry and negative like never before. You could really say that Twitter is toxic. So I stopped using it and I never missed it to this day.

Also, if you think you can't stay away from Twitter, there are simple ways to just block it from you network.

  7. Twitter was the (external) cause of my downfall recently. I allowed myself to log onto Twitter for instant porn. Big mistake.

Social media is a cancer. Anyone trying to kick a PMO addiction/facade needs to kick social media as well.

  10. Yours is an interesting position. Are you in this position, currently? Like, are you finishing up or have you already finished up with social media (sm)? I think ending sm will be as hard as giving up porn, in some ways. I access sm everyday and actually wish I didn't.
Do you think one can learn to use sm in a healthy way?

Well, I only use YouTube, and I rarely comment on things I disagree with as to not waste time. If you want to get rid of social media/porn, you need to build a mass EMP bomb.
