9 month is 0.75 of a year by multiplying 0.75 by 20 (0.75*20=15) we have 15 years so if you just consider time watched, someone watching for 5 hours per day for 9 months is like someone who watched 15 minutes /day for 15 years.

but i think its more exponential than linear so if you used for 20 years you dont need to wait twice as much someone who watched for 10 years (regarding other elements like intensity are same)

It seems to me that regardless of how long one's addiction was, post acute withdrawal syndrome takes the roughly the same time to die as long as one was a heavy user for an extended period of time.

  4. This. I am depressed so I am never mentally or emotionally invested in anything, which includes talking to people so they bore me and then I start getting anxious because I feel weird or think they might think I’m some way.

  5. Hey, can you explain to me how you did that math?

    Yeah, whats unclear ?
    5 hours is 20x more than 15 minutes, and 9 month is 0.75 of a year 9/12=0.75

  7. How long would it take me to recover if I fapped for 5 years. I'm just addicted to M not P. I rarely watched P

Probably less, nobody can tell how long it would take, even if we are professional neuroscience doctors and are able to open your brain and clearly watch it we wont be able to tell you an accurate date, because your recovery and what you do during it matters too, you may have phases of both depression and motivation repeating again and again.

I don't think it takes two years, it's completely different if you use both porn and masturbation

  11. Even if it does take 2 years, I'm in. I don't plan on doing MO ever again or even PMO.

Really wish you did not have to wait 18 months to get healed. Great mental strength.

Does anyone have any scientific data on post acute withdrawal symptoms (PAWS) duration in relation to frequency of use and length of addiction?

    I found this extract:

    Research
Although few studies over the years have agreed on the exact definition and parameters of protracted withdrawal, some investigators have documented some of the symptoms associated with the syndrome.

One German study found that long-term alcohol use tends to inhibit the effects of certain chemicals in the brain (atrial natriuretic peptide) and those effects remain diminished weeks after abstinence. This resulted in increased craving for alcohol and increased feelings of anxiety during protracted withdrawal.

A long-term study at Johns Hopkins University of 312 abstinent alcoholics found that some of the more "demoralizing" symptoms of withdrawal—guilt, depression, interpersonal sensitivity—decreased progressively with prolonged abstinence, but in some cases could take 10 years to return to "normal levels."

Authors of the Johns Hopkins study concluded that their findings were "consistent with the concept of a protracted withdrawal syndrome."

It sucks when you start shaking for no reason when you are trying to talk to someone. Everything is like before and after quitting pmo and sobering up is no cakewalk. BUT, we'll do this.

The memory and concentration problems were the most annoying symptoms of the paws.
