I don't know how or if to bring this up in this forum. I wish I had known about this condition earlier, as I would have done what I could to mitigate its onset.

I have successfully dropped the porn masturbation habit. My method was a little unorthodox, but worked well for me. I won't get into that here, but suffice it to say that I succeeded sometime last year when I had a "mountaintop" experience of sorts. I got down to the bottom of why I went down that path to begin with, and with me, a problem understood is a problem 95% solved. It went back to childhood, but then don't most psychological things?

Here is where things get muddy. When I went abstinant from masturbation, I genuinely had a concern about some scarring which I had from an old injury to my member (as part of some other massive injuries when I was 19). While I intended to continue to manipulate the tissue in order to prevent the scarring from worsening, I chose not to in order to more readily facilitate freedom from the habit.

Once morning wood returned, I knew I was getting over the lifelong habit. But, and here is the big issue, I now have a rather severe case of what is known as Peyronies Disease. While I have no absolute proof of it coming on as a direct result of my cessation of fapping, I am leaning towards that. I am now doing several things in an effort to correct this issue involving physical traction, vacuum therapy and supplements/medications.

Unfortunately, most Dr's know little about it. It is recognized, but not understood and not readily treated. In fact, there are probably only a half dozen urologists in America who even take treating this condition non-surgically seriously at all. Most will adopt a "wait and see" attitude, and after a year or so say "it's too late" to do anything about it. Those who will do surgery...well...the surgical "fix" is not exactly a fix, and will leave you worse than before most of the time.

If you have the slightest indication that this is happening to you, take it seriously. It will mess your life up as much or more than excessive fapping...which in itself may actually be a cause.

Peyronies Disease is scarring (called "plaque", but not really in the commonly understood meaning) of the tissue so much that it causes a sometimes painful bend during erection. This bend can render an erection unusable as well as painful. Penis structure is a fascinating and somewhat complex thing, and the tissues which make for a usable erection work in a way which requires flexibility up to a point, and no farther.

There is a great TED talk about it by a Diane Kelly titled "What we didn't know about penis anatomy". It is quite entertaining to watch her talk about this subject to a mixed audience as well as being very informative.

Scarring of this tissue can completely compromise function, which is what has happened to me. This condition is called Peyronies Disease.

As you venture down this path...and it is a good path...be aware of your overall penis health, as it may require some particular attention to maintain.

Very interesting. I was reading about Peyronic disease just now!

I was very much pleased (sorry) to hear from a patient what I was reading only in theory.

The article I was reading stated that only surgery can fix the problem, but only on a few cases, because the surgery can leave scars which will worsen the problem.

My grandma got a boyfriend (lol). He was about 70 years old when they moved together, and this guy was sexually active (more or less). He died of a heart attack soon after they moved together.

Why your penis was damaged? Doing sports? An accident? Yes, violent masturbation might be the cause, but it was better for you to stop now than to keep damaging your penis even more. Maybe if you stopped earlier, then it would have been able to heal?

I quite don't understand this disease but I hope it doesn't affects your everyday life. Sex is not everything in life and we can be happy without it.

SOLUTION: I had the exact same. Peyronie after 1 year of Nofap. Wish I had time to explain, but what cured me was Iontophoresis with Verapamil + an antiinflammatory product. After 12 injections (without a sting), and 2 months or so, I was suddenly cured overnight. Woke up with a straight erection and no pain.

I too have almost 50° bend from the middle. It looks ugly too. I wish during this nofap journey...maybe the penis tissues get repaired. Because I heard it goes away naturally in some cases. So I stopped wearing underwears at night
.. because in the morning the underwear forces my penis to bend so badly when it's erect.
    Hope it solves naturally.
