you know a lot of you guys have different notions about meditation and its fin, but whatever those are, dont feel overpowered by it. we all know there are a lot of guys who started doing meditation and somehow left it in between. all of you guys who feel like this should watch the small JRE clip between naval ravikant and Joe Rogan, these two guys are unbelievably positive, especially naval ravikant, this man has opened my eyes to so many things.

anyways, the point is, just sit down and close your eyes and let the thoughts come as and when they want, because they will come and they will come hard and its completely alright, we dont have to compare ourselves with buddhist monks or those elusive samurais of Japan, we are messed up people and this is bound to happen and it is a good thing.

the huge benefit is, we just become a little bit more aware, i have to tell you so many times i feel like watching porn and i just realize its bad for me, sometimes i have ended up edging, sometimes i end up touching myself, but i used to this before meditation as well, but the change now is, even when i am doing all his to myself, i am increasingly aware and that will eventually become so aware or habitual to get rid of this shit. such awareness keeps telling me to get out of it, instead of earlier when as if a different beast used to take us over and command us like his minions.

the worst part is, this is something we just cannot do in bits and pieces, we will have to do it continuously, over a period of time. and everybody says we need to do pmo for a long long period of time to see the benefits, but let us also do it with meditation, so that when we feel low or flatline, at least we feel good in our heads comparatively, and a raise of hands, who here hasnt done pmo without relapsing tons of times, so might as well try it with this thing this time.

all said and done, will it stop us relapsing, hell no, i have relapsed already but i have to tell you the confidence i had after that relapse of the ability to bounce back was something i hadn't felt earlier. but its like a good dish, you can read me telling you all about it, but it just doesn't work like that, you will have to eat it to realize what does it taste like.

cheerios guys, lets speed this process.

I can say from personal experience after 6 months of meditating twice per day....
Will it stop you from relapsing?
    Yes.

If you are willing to invest significant time into discovering yourself fully, meditation and mindfulness can absolutely enable you to fully confront your addiction.

It is much more than a way of not feeling shite on one particular day or quietening the noise in your head or diverting from urges on an immediate level.
Over time it will change your mindset, outlook and view of reality.
These things are key to beating your addiction.

So yes. It can fundamentally change your mind and your life. With effort and perseverance.

I am a regular meditation user. I meditate for 2 years, more or less regularly. I am not sure if I see a difference. I still meditate, normally I will go for 20 minutes in the morning and 20 min in the evening if I can. I maintain such schedule for a few months now. I enjoy it, I think I like the act of meditation but I am not sure if its helped me... I still have a super chaotic mindset, millions of thoughts per minute, I am still very "reactionious", very impulsive and spontaneous, very fragile to urges, not only pmo.

Any guidelines what do you consider as meditation, what is your schedule, do you only sit and observe or do you read sth about the background and wisdom behind it?

hey man, i personally respect you because you have persisted with the habit of meditation, well bro the thing is, there are various types of meditation and to say that x is better than y is futile because its not like you can rte any of the types, also, this is one thing, where, whichever mode you use, you will eventually become more mindful and more aware of circumstances.

if your mind is still being chaotic, then all i can say is to keep at it, you see nobody said that if we do meditation for a few years we will become focussed like some monk, becaue if that were the case, then i can tell you the whole world would start doing meditation on a daily basis just like we have a made it a habit to brush our teeth. this is something which will take a lot of time and investment and it pays spectacularly. also you have to realise its not as if we are curing some disease that can be done after a few monsths or years of meditation, this is a super powerful investment that we do into ourselves for life, and this is something not many poeple are able to do because just like you or me, people like seeing direct results as if they are going to their gym, but this is not the way meditation works.

the best thing that you have done is, you kept at it for all this while, keep doing this, imagine if you hadnt done this and started today, you would have felt such tremendous pressure of thoughts and theres nothhing wrong in it, because thats what i feel today when i do it.

however, i understand your deeper question as to whta should we feel, well it should be directedt to someone who has done it for a longer time and i follow a very very powerful and intellectual person for guidance in this and many many other aspects of my life in this regard. that person is naval ravikant, in case you need to hear him talk on meditation, go to youtube and search "naval ravikant and joe rogan talk about meditation". its a small 6-7- minute clip, nothing long, however if you feel interested, then you can watch that whole episode, and if you still have questions, then get back to me.

as for the question what do i do, i do whatever naval says to do in that clip

    Done a lot of meditation.

I don't think it's meant for everybody. It made me crazy at times.
