Guys, I succesfully avoid porn for quite some time.
But I keep relapsing on 2-3day basis because it seems impossible to avoid masturbation.
Is masturbation a problem too or is it mainly porn?
How is masturbation addiction defined? Like when do you start thinking you are addicted?

    Can anyone relate to this?
I dont feel the urge to watch porn but cant resist masturbation and in my case its only prone masturbation.

Your goals are pretty much your own but what you're thinking about might show that it could be a trigger. I don't trust myself with masturbation since my mind goes to strange places and I end up back to square one but others don't get that problem. If you want to give up masturbation, just keep trying but if it's not a problem then just use your own judgement

  3. I'm in my early 40s and started prone masturbation as far back as I can remember (4 years old or so).

Masturbation was a severe addiction for me which has caused problems both physical and psychological over the years. Although I've watched porn as an adult it was never something that was a problem for me.

If you're questioning whether or not you have an addiction that would probably be a good indicator that you have a problem.

    Thx for replies guys

@Grateful Retainer did you quit prone masturbation?
I am a bit younger, nearing my 30s, but I guess I am on the same boat. Have never masturbated the classic way and that maybe the biggest reason I dont have problem with porn, because you cant really watch porn and prone at the same time.
I want to quit prone masturbation but I keep failing for about almost 2years.

  5. Yes I have quit doing prone masturbation (or any masturbation for that matter).

Obviously my habit predates the existence of high speed internet so I never used pornography to fuel the masturbation. I've certainly viewed porn as an adult but it never had a grip on me, possibly because it wasn't a part of my formative years. When I decided to stop masturbation completely it was remarkably easy to stay away from pornography. I have zero desire to watch that garbage.
