I am a few days in to the rebooting process and I feel great so far. Learning about how porn is so bad for your well being has really set me on my way to becoming the best version of myself and I have noticed a ton of benefits already. The only problem I've noticed is my brain is so addicted to porn that I have trouble falling asleep at night now, and I keep myself up with subconscious thoughts about it. Anyone suffer anything similar and have any advice for it?

Meditation or reading fiction right before going to bed! Works like magic.

It's very odd because I have been reading a little before bed, enough to get weary, but my days have not been so bad that I've had to toss and turn all night because I can't turn my brain off lol. I will give meditation a try as well. I am sure that it's not a great issue as I've heard quitting cold turkey from porn can give you sleeping issues. It might just be something that I'll need my brain to work out since it's never been used to go without porn and dopamine for this long. Thanks for the suggestions!

Dear i also suffered from the same. regarding this i met my family doctor and wxplained him everything abt my nofap journey. so he prescribed me some medicine to relieves from stress and given me sleeping pills of very low potency. he told me to take those medicine only for 20 days and now i m stress free and getting sleep without medicine. sometimes i cant get good sleep but thats r once in a week. so my advice is to consult ur family doctor abt it. in some region or situation medicines r helpful. give it a try.

Progressive muscle relaxation when you get into bed really helps with insomnia. Just tense strongly (for about 5 seconds) a muscle groups and then slowly relax them. Start by crunching your toes; straining your toes back toward your body; clenching your calves; thighs; buttocks; abdomen... Each time after 5 intense seconds, slowly release and relax the muscles. Go up and back down the body in this way and you may soon go to sleep as it has a surprisingly soporific effect.

Hydroxyzine is a pharmaceutical alternative. It is not a hypnotic or a tranquilliser. It is actually an antihistamine. You can take [25mg; 50mg; 75mg; or 100mg] for the side effect of drowsiness. It is completely non-addictive and you can start or stop it without titration. You cannot buy them 'over the counter', so you would need to get your doctor to prescribe them to you. I have used them with great success, but don't need them any more.

I had the same problem too. Takes me about a week to recover because of a low dopamine level. After a week you will start to feel sleepy again. Don't stay up to late for a few days and it will get better :) A cup of tea before going to bed works great for me as well. Give it a try and let me know if it helped :)

NB Bear in mind, Champion, that tea has caffeine in it. I am not sensitive to it, but some really are.

I have the same problems. I agree with IGY. I'm very sensitive to caffeine. A cup of coffee can make me crazy. So no caffeine after 18:00. Before sleep I try to drink tea out of sedative herbs. Listening to relaxing music is helpful. Also I heard an interesting idea, that if you can't fall asleep in 15 minutes, then you better get up, exit your bedroom, and do something relaxing and try again later.

I had the same problem, but now I sleep like a log, so hold on.
I also exercise more, so try to get in some more exercise.
    Good Luck!

Try "Say Goodnight to Insomnia" by Gregg D. Jacobs

Exercise + meditation before sleeping work best for me, but I still have this issue. Actually, because over the years masturbation has intersected with bed time so much for me, I get sexually aroused prior to going to sleep very often so meditation is frequently necessary. Night time arousal and fantasies was a contributor to my relapses for a very long time. Recently the only thing I have managed to do is MO without P around once a week so I dont stay up all night. Otherwise I would stay up all night and eventually PMO. I tried everything including praying for 1.5 hrs - 2hrs straight to meditation when I couldnt sleep but nothing worked. Right now I know MO is not recovery but I am working on overcoming the urges to achieve a total reboot. I can go no PMO for around 4 - 8 weeks with my longest being 3 months in recent times but no MO is only around a week on average. I once got 6 months a couple of year back straight with no PMO, MO whatsoever, only edged a few times. I was sleeping very well at those times. I do not know how.

Any tips on how to fully establish a fool proof sleep pattern would be a massive inroad for me for my recovery, as night time is basically the number one high risk period for me and has been for a long time.

Very weird...I logged on with the intent to post about this same thing. I have a biphasic sleep cycle, 3-4 hours during the night, and a nap of anywhere from 60 minutes to 2 hours in the day.. Now, however, 2 weeks into no PMO, I have a very strange sort of sleep. It seems like I am awake, yet time passes too quickly for this to be so. It's as if I am asleep dreaming that I am laying in bed awake. Very peculiar. Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks for the suggestions. I haven't been able to excercise as often as I'd like to but I'm excited to know once I start working out I will have better gains from not fapping.
