    This is not news to me, although I grew up in California and a lot of these movements originated from there. Especially San Diego.

    For the record, I grew up in a Christian upbringing but now identify myself as agnostic. I respect what these people are trying to do, and believe that they are actually taking steps to follow Jesus' original intention. However, I do not share their core belief system.

    I think it's great when Christians are active concerning issues like immigration, refugees, and racial reconciliation. But that should come from biblical motivation or personal conviction. Too often people feel obligated to care about something when they really don't, or they feel like showing concern about an issue in their church will increase attendance. In that case, they end up appropriating really oppression and struggle and using it for their own gain. Jesus' life was all about caring for the marginalized and rejected at all costs, so I think the Church could be doing a whole lot better at following his example.

    That article reeked of liberal propaganda. Please keep Christianity out of politics. That goes for both conservatives and liberals. Religion and politics do not mix, we don't want another form of Islam.
