Question

Discussion in 'Porn Addiction' started by Deleted Account, Apr 15, 2019.

  1. I have a question for people who could successfully achieve high milestones in their process of quitting PMO.

After long months of resisting, do you still have the urge to watch porn or masturbate again? What do you do if you get aroused after looking at a hot person?

    Thanks.

    Hello,
Clearly, I am a young person of age, but I am addicted to porn and I do masturbate quite a lot. However, I started this journey a few days ago. I know this means that I haven’t been on for long but I can still answer your question.
I read a post on reddit from a guy who quit masturbation and porn for a very long time. He said that he is disgusted to watch porn. He also mentions how the feeling after masturbating makes you think like “What the fuck am I doing?”. He also mentions how he is extremely happy to have stopped masturbating and watching porn. In addition, he says that he would never in his life go back to his old ways of masturbating or watching porn.
Anyways, you can start this journey now. And I will tell you from now, it can get really hard, as I have tried this before and unfortunately failed. This time, however, I hope to succeed. Anyways, although it might be a tough journey, the results are very positive.
So, I’m trying to tell you that as hard as the urge to masturbate or watch porn gets, don’t do it. If you do it now and say “Oh I’ll stop tomorrow”, then you’re never going to stop. This has, unfortunately, happened quite a lot to me.
In the end, fight hard and never stop. Today is better than tomorrow!

  3. Thanks mate! So quitting porn and masturbation for a long period will bring back the same feelings we used to have towards these things before discovering them. I hope so.

Yes, according to the guy’s experience. I hope it works out for you. Goodluck on this tough but worthwhile journey! :D

Well, that's not much but after a bit more than 1 month, I don't have any interest to see porn again, I think I'm too aroused by a lot of things that I would M without it. After a small flatline at the first week, I constantly get aroused by thoughts mostly, and people sometimes.
When I get aroused by someone I just don't look at it, try to pick my cellphone, change my mind or try to think another stuff, not sex or fantasy with the person, but knowing her for example.
After 1 month I definitely feel more confident and a very solid purpose, I know I won't watch porn, M is a bit more complicated but I'm doing great, I don't think I'm gonna fall but, who knows.
    This journey has been interesting.

  6. I recently relapsed after 116 days. There seems to always be a temptation but it tends to come from negative emotions in my case rather then seeing a hot person. But...I'm not above random horniness so there is that possibility too.

  8. It's okay man, you made a record that few people could achieve, and I don't think it's hard for you to achieve that again, so keep going ;)

Urges are kind of a part of every person, to a certain degree. As such, urges will never truly go away. The real question is how well you manage those urges. What do you do when one comes along? That's why it's important to remember along the journey useful techniques.

  10. Thank you. So what kind of techniques do you suggest?

most important for us to remember is that strong urges will pass! maybe not for a few days but eventually they will ! and if we stayed sober , they will leave us alone for a longer time! But i dont think they will go for good , but its nice not to have to fight them often
