Hello guys, i have been trying to quit porn for 3 months now. in all three months i noticed that i relapse on the 2 week mark. i cant get past 2 weeks. i dont know how it comes i try so hard to not watch or look at anything that relates to porn. but i just cant get through the two week mark. but im not going to give up because i know when i have stopped watching porn for a long period of time. i kinda feel like im a whole another person, the person i want to be. So i came here today to talk to you guys or post anything when i get stuck in my mind thinking that i have to watch porn or however i just end up relapsing. I hope to hear your thoughts on this and if u guys could give me some tips and hope.

trying to bro for me how my relapse works is I can go for a month or 2 then it will hit me hard which starts that relapse and then after that I will P.M.O for 2-3 days straight and it feels terrible going that far and then starting this has been happening to me for a long time now, but now I’ve gotten rid of certain things in my life so I’m going to try again and I’m going to be sign up for a gym. Basically you have to fill in the void that’s causing P.M.O in the first place if you change that then the relapsing should be easier to control.

You need to believe that liberating yourself from addictions will put you in the right place and in the right path towards a fulfilling life. You need to have faith.

Change your environment. What I mean is really scrutinize what things, places and time, triggers the habit of masturbation. Then rearrange the room, change up a routine, get rid of or move the things that trigger the urge to masturbate. Its a bit of a psychological trick on yourself. Ever felt the need to masturbate in a new or public place? Maybe not, and that's the idea. New environment = loss of environmental cue. Internet search engines have a feature that can filter out adult content exposing us to less "stimulation". Unfollow social media that can trigger thoughts.

Every two weeks is a great step in quitting. You have begun a process of weaning your brain off the dopamine spikes given by watching porn. The re-wiring process takes time and you are doing great! I am willing to bet you experience more sensation form smaller things in life more than you did before? How's your concentration? Motivation to complete tasks?

    Definitely agree with Kennskee here.

It can be tiring, always hitting that 2 week mark and relapsing putting you back to square one. For me, it was always the morning after a long night of drinking or sometimes staying home all day during a Saturday that would trigger my urges.

It's all about being aware of your cues and at least in the beginning with fragile will power, to avoid these at all costs. For instance, I found out that if I actually lowered my alcohol consumption, my dopamine levels wouldn't be too depleted the next morning for me to have a craving to look at some videos / pictures. On the weekend, I will purposefully make plans and stay out the house to keep my mind completely away from any temptations.

Don't give up brother. Going two weeks at a time is far better than most of the people in this journey. Now just aim for 3 weeks and 4 weeks and so on. If you relapse, don't dwell on it for long and don't give yourself an excuse to binge for the next couple days.

    Don't get discouraged brother!
