  1. @MisterWhite264 Thanks for the responses! I agreed with your point that sexuality is natural and normal, which is fine for most people.

I saw Salo, and that movie was fucking disturbing as motherfucking fuck.:emoji_confounded:
A Clockwork Orange is a classic piece of art. Very weird but well-made movie.
Crash from 1996 I have heard sometimes, and it's a shame that a 2005 one stole the same title from it but not a remake/reboot by any means.
Never heard of The Devils from 1971 and I am curious what is that about.

Did you forget a foreign movie that is called Blue Is The Warmest Colour? It's well-acted and written, and it can be controversial but that lesbian sex scene (which is longer than 5 minutes) in the middle of the movie got me anxious. Minus that lesbian sex scene, I'd highly recommend it for the acting and screenplay.

That is all I wanted to say for now.:emoji_ok_hand:

  3. The Rental - 5/10

Idk, it was a fine thriller, although a little lacking on the "thrill" part. Like half of the characters were extremely unlikable, but I liked Alison Brie's character.

I just wish it had more scary parts. It seemed like a pretty interesting premise for a fun slasher flick, but literally over half the movie was just relationship drama and zero thrill or suspense at all.

    Nope - 7.3 / 10

Just watched yesterday, I think its one of those movies you like or hate, there are a couple of things that do not resolve during the movie and it could also have a bit of a faster pace.
Watch it if you like science fiction or Jordan Peele style as a director.

  5. Yeah, I also like Blue Is The Warmest color, that`s another example of a good movie about human relationship and sexuality. And the sex scene is there and that long for purpose, it`s pornographic but in the same time it`s using porn as a way of expression, not just as another mindless sex scene.

I highly recommend The Devils, it`s based on a real facts about Catholic church(17th century), basically it`s a critical view of corrupt religious leaders and what can a religion do as an ideology. I don`t know if you can find an uncut version, because the film was censored and never to be shown in full, mostly because of the scene where sexually repressed nuns go crazy and have an orgies in church. But theatrical version is not that much controversial, and it can be watched without any ,,harm``.

  6. Lol I would never recommend that movie to anyone here. I literally used to watch the sex scenes from that movie on phub to M to. It's straight up pornography. Just because it has a story you enjoy doesn't make it not pornography anymore.

    Nope 7/10

I would recommend if you like Jordan Peele movies or spectacle flicks like Jaws or Jurassic Park. There were some disturbing, thought-provoking scenes but nothing too scary. I would say go in with your expectations tempered expecting to see the unexpected haha.

  8. I do not think that is pornography, it`s a sex act shot for the sake of the story, characters and main ideas of the movie. Pornography is also individual aspect, for me it`s just banal sex act for the sake of masturbation. You can categorize everything as a pornography if you want to, but like I wrote, sex is natural and it should never be taboo in any form of art, just imagine how empty some of our favorite pieces of art would be if there is no love, passion and sex.

  9. In the end it`s all down to the viewer, if you are immature and you find everything sexually arousing, then is probably for the best for you to work on yourself until you can not tell difference between banal porn sex and sex made for the sake of art.

  10. Are you serious? You're just going to label me immature because I recognize that something pornographic is pornographic?

First of all, art is subjective. So the fact that my opinion is different than yours doesn't make me immature and you Mr. Smart Smarty for having "figured it out."

Secondly, the definition of pornogrpahy is this: the depiction of erotic behavior (as in pictures or writing) intended to cause sexual excitement.

If you don't think the sex scenes in that movie were intended to to cause sexual excitement, then I think you are naive.

Uh, no. You cannot. Any story that doesn't depict erotic behavior, in pictures or in writing, is for sure not pornography. And if you think you can't write great stories without depicting erotic behavior, then you are just wrong.

Just because something is natural doesn't mean people need to watch it happen on a TV screen. Sex is meant to be a private activity between a man and his wife. There is absolutely no need for movies to show people having sex on the screen.

Also, you cannot conflate sex with passion and love... you casually slipped that in at the end, as if they are mutually exclusive. Like if a movie doesn't show graphic sex on the screen, then that's basically the same as them not having passion or love? That's just silly. I would absolutely agree that stories would be crap without passion and love. But I don't think stories would be crap without showing us graphic sex scenes. It's not necessary at all, and a story isn't bad without it. Nor does it make it "taboo" if movies don't show it on screen.

We don't show close up shots of people peeing and pooping on TV either, but nobody thinks that's "taboo." Some things are just meant to be kept private. Private does not equal taboo.

  11. I keep re-reading this and I just had to respond to again to quote this without the "love and passion" part, because that's not what we are talking about. Nobody suggested removing love and passion from art, so let's not pretend that has anything to do with putting sex in art.

I cannot think of a single piece or art in the world that would be "empty" without sex. And I would implore you to consider that that may be your addict mind speaking. There is no reason for art to feel empty without sex. There isn't even a good reason for LIFE to feel empty without sex, but that's a little harder of a thought to overcome.

Perhaps this will feel harsh for me to say, but in reading your comments in this thread, it just looks to me like your addict mind is lying to you and tricking you into accepting things that you should be rejecting, because you are putting them in a clarification of "art." It's like your brain is saying "I know you're trying to quit watching porn, but THIS porn is fine, because you can call it art."

You could use that justification for almost anything. I won't get into any triggering details, but I could seriously think of ways that I could spin any pornography I've ever watching into being acceptable if I just said it was art and it was made for a reason, not just "banal." But calling it art doesn't change what it is or how it effects your brain and your hormonal response. The idea that graphic sex scenes in a movie or TV show, that are relevant to the plot, are completely different than porn, is just a big, fat lie. They are the same in many ways, and if you really want to rid yourself of porn and overcome addiction and heal your body and your mind, you need to stop believing graphic sex is art and that art would be empty without it.

That's all I'm going to say, because I don't want to derail this thread. I just find your comments concerning, if you are an addict trying to overcome porn addiction. I think you are still believing a lot of lies that are going to hold you down until you acknowledge them as lies and let them go. That's just my perspective.

“Why does yoghurt night has to be so DIFFICULT?!”

    The movie itself - 7/10
    The memes - 11/10

Seriously. I knew that this movie was a fountain of memes but it has somehow managed to surpass my already high expectations in terms of its memeworthiness. Sometimes it’s a pretty meh kids movie but sometimes it is just CRAZY in the best way possible.

Not a good Alien movie, it wanted to be deep and philosophical compared to the previous slasher monster style Alien movies. Still better than 90% of modern sci fi and I enjoyed it for what it was, especially the sets and cinematography

    Prey 4/10
Arnold's squad in the original Predator movie were all roided huge Green berets and their Predator wiped the floor with them. In this movie a petite girl with zero experience and training kills the French trappers and kills the Predator with traps and plot armor. They say several times the Predator "doesn't consider her a threat", while she clearly displayed her ability to do damage and unlike animals, uses tools like the Predator. The Yautja Honor Code is clear about hunting prey that can defend itself, only sick, pregnant, underage or handicapped due to a bear trap for example, are unlawful prey.

Overall I liked the concept of the setting for a Predator movie, but it was just executed badly and felt too forced with the "woman needs to prove she is stronk and not only good for cooking" narrative without making it believable and in line with the Predator lore.
