I was browsing around nofap when I read in a post about a guy reading erotic materials and was wondering,

    Is it that bad?

Probably is as a gateway to a relapse and such, but does it offer that dopamine rush that porn gives?

  2. P-sub. Bad idea.

  3. It probably does, just as a picture can give you a rush

  4. Yep it's pretty bad. I think sometime last year I went and searched for some erotic manga and I read almost all of one of them. It was a fucked up story and it took up all the time in the day I wanted to be productive. I had urges all the way through and then in the evening I finally M'd. There's a reason that was the last erotic material I read. I felt absolutely disgusted when I immersed myself in such a dire story (i never finished it) and got off to it. It resonated with my fetish but it was something that was probably happening in the real world. I wouldn't give myself any excuse to look at that stuff again, just like with regular P.

I don't recommend it. I've had similar experiences recently and it really just augments the urges. With time, I'm sure one gets inoculated against such material, but I doubt it, actually. Just stay away, I'd say. Hard, I know. But that's what you gotta do.

  6. It's okay brother, many brothers have reported that porn has changed their taste of sexual desires, escalating to filthier porn or even in real life, it's messed up their sexual out look. It's just proof that porn warps our minds. When you get hooked you want new more deeper stuff, and the deep stuff tend to be little more messed up than the previous. It creates lust in you, lust that can only be tamed a certain way.

I'm sure you weren't like this before your problem with P. No one starts out at a 100 ( except maybe a few outliers) they gradually build up tolerance. All I'm saying is don't feel bad, it's not you it's the drugs, and you can come back down. But you have to cut out P and all P substitutes for life and start learning to live without it now. It's okay and you'll be okay, plus it's filth that teaches us to disrespect and objectify women when we should be treating them right, a person with a soul. She the princess, yo momma the queen

  7. Thanks my dude. Yeah I'm gradually becoming more educated about all of this by spending more time on here. Beginning to understand all these perspectives and facts about something we're all fighting together and validating all these questions I asked myself. I feel like this is what I needed in my life ages ago but I'm just glad I'm more aware of my surroundings.

The word porn (Greek porneia) point to prostitution. Also: everything that stimulates sexually.
And written stories are included as well.

Words can have huge power. Spoken or written, but every word is connected to a power. Positive or negative.
I can remember sex stories I read in my youth 25 years ago. I wish I never read them.
When you read a story your brain is making a movie out of it in your head (using your ability to imagination).

So what do you think: IS reading a sex story much different from watching a movie for the brain?

  9. Meditate and reflect yourself and what you want and need in your life, most importantly why you want or need those. No right or wrong answer, just helps lay you out as a person and see what you're about.

Also, meditate, it helps you be more self aware conciously and that's important, because this problem is a mind game. Know your triggers and your weaknesses and at those moment when you are triggered, see your thoughts and do not let it go any further! Stop after the first initial thought otherwise the next thought may be the last one, each thought makes the grip that much tighter on you. It's more or less a numbers game, but after a few weeks or months, your urges will weaken, after that you just have to stop viewing P and P substitutes but you will most likely forever have to give it up, which is okay, it's a good thing. Porn is filth and unrealistic, makes us all perverts, society as a whole is filled with so much perversion, we replace love with lust, we are lost. But it's okay, we are the front lines so let's set an example for the future

  10. Common sense would determine, yes it is a bad idea.

  11. Yes I agree...p-sub! Sometimes I get more turned on from reading erotica than actual P But women are more "in the head" then men.
