I was with a gorgeous woman the other night. a 10/10. I could not for the life of me get an erection. she tried, but i just could not get erect. She said "Am I not doing something to get you going?". man i felt bad and embarrassed. This is straight up PIED. I need to quit Porn cold turkey and begin NoFap. I need to ask, Generally how long till your sensitivity returns? This was a major wake up call to me. ugh

Well, the typical program for PIED is 9 months no-PMO hardmode. Up for it? Some guys need a little longer.

You just described PIED. Porn induced erectile dysfunction.

It happens because of a desensitization to real women and a conditioning to only get aroused by images on a screen.

How long it will take depends on how long you’ve been PMO’ing. For some it takes a few months, for many it takes 12 months and beyond.

It’s good you got that wake up call, now you can begin your recovery.

  4. I'm kind of hard pressed to be helpful because I never had that problem, but
    I should have.

But if a guy uses PMO so much that if he gets a hot chick that he can't perform,
he probably has other serious life issues.

Or he's lying about getting the hot chick...?

Either way, he's in the right place...

Yes, I'm actually agree with you. Regretfully, I don't have PIED - Ha! I am pursuing no PMO (hardmode) for moral and spiritual benefit. I just came off of a 6-month hardmode recovery streak (and I was never so happy than during that time), and I want to get back into the same.

I was responding to another's concern about PIED, which is a real predicament, seemingly, for even young guys who get into PMO.

Who would have thought it? The age old wisdom to avoid P and M was right after all. Ha!

And, I could care less about the girl's rating on a misogynistic scale.

  6. Six months, that's amazing! I have seen you around here, I know you are serious about it.

No, I didn't think you had PIED. I just responded so I could say hi, see what you're up to.

The age old wisdom was right, I agree. They knew nothing about dopamine, but they knew
the connection between PMO and watching people who were far below their potential.

I was 43, about to turn 44 when I first heard of NoFap. When I did my first streak,
I went through painful withdrawals. It was the worst suffering.

That convinced me that my brain, my way of life, and my PMO addiction had messed me up.

I'm just going to throw this out here, cause I've never seen it mentioned around here. Everyone jumps to the conclusion that anyone on this site with erection difficulties has PIED. And that's probably true. But there are other reasons for ED. You may want to get checked out by a doctor for these other possible causes. It's worth ruling out. Also, he/she may be able to prescribe you something so you don't suffer from ED's negative effect on your relationship(s), while you embark on breaking your addiction to porn.

appreciate the response guys, I wrote this post in a bit of a momentary freak out when i was thinking back on it. I tried NoFap last year and i was on a 2 month streak then relapsed back into it. my terrible habit is i used it almost like sleep aid for years and i was in a bad mindset. I think ill have better motivation now then before. the other night i think was big enough wake up call it killed my desire to watch any porn right now(see how long this lasts). mean time ill consider going to see the doctor about it.

Do you really visit doctors with BS like this these days? What is he supposed to do anyway other than advise the usual and obvious truisms everybody with an IQ>50 knows (trying to stay off porn, eating healthy, sleeping well, quitting smoking, blah blah blah)? Oh, and prescribing viagra.

"Ok young man, here's a picture of an attractive topless female. Now, please pull down your pants so that I can examine the level of your arousal".

Nothing wrong with seeking a Doctor's opinion. i don't think it's necessarily a good idea to ignore a potential medical problem without talking to a professional. I just said I may "consider" it. No need to be hostile.

The only people I'm being hostile towards is medical professionals "encouraging" you to visit them with every bollocks problem in your life prior to using your common sense. The medical folk has it easy these days. Also, there's absolutely no reason to capitalize "doctor", unless people with a doctor's degree are some sort of a deity to you.

I had this "embarassing" situation too in my life once. I met this rather attractive girl, we tried doing it in a car. He didn't go up, no matter what she did. But guess what: my spiritual self wasn't really into one-night stands. Also, the car was a Daewoo Tico (google it if curious) AND we were in the middle of a forest AND it was about -5*C outside. So yeah. And yes, I was a PMO abuser back then.

The funny thing is my member was really shrunk from cold, and the girl happened to be a future girlfriend of one of my best friends. So after some years it took some explaining (not really necessary, but heck) that I really don't have a micropenis, it was just FREAKING COLD. But I wasn't "embarassed" and certainly didn't consider going to a doctor for even a split second. I realised it just wasn't my day, I need to go off porn and I need to reconsider my approach to intimacy with females. Which I recommend to you also.

If you do everything right, 3 months is time enough to overcome PIED, but let us know a little background of you, for how long have you been having trouble getting erect?

@Ekhangel There are many purely physical reasons for ED, including heart disease, arteriosclerosis, Peyronie's disease, spinal issues, prostate disease, sleep disorders, etc. Probably most of these would not affect someone as young as the OP probably is, but why would you just dismiss these potentially serious health concerns? And if they are treatable, why would you choose not to seek treatment? And yes, when addressing a physician, I do capitalize the title, Dr., in recognition of the years of medical studies, practical internships, etc. that he/she put in to achieve his/her level of expertise - expertise you don't have.

  14. I would first do 3+ months on hard mode NoFap, a full reboot before seeing a doctor.

Because if he gives you a script for Cialis, it's going to make your problems worse.

So you’re suggesting he should be examined for all the diseases listed before trying the obvious? I’d feel like a complete idiot (not to be confused with embarrassment) going to see a „Doctor” over a trivial issue like that. I mean, if the problem was persistent and lost-lasting and the numerous usual solutions didn’t work, then sure, why not, but seeing a specialist because you couldn’t get him up this one time with this chic you probably have no emotional relationship with whatsoever to begin with? It’s like sneezing once or twice and immediately going to the pharmacy to buy some flu medication.

People are turning into mindless herd these days going to see the Doctor about everything “just in case”. Your child isn’t speaking by the age of 2? Go see a speech therapist, he might not be developing properly according to WHO. You’re feeling down a little recently? Go see a therapist, talking to your friend or praying never works anyway, does it. You’re having headaches often? See the doctor! Surely this can’t be due to excessive coffee drinking or not going out enough?

You didn’t manage to get yours up with a hot chick? See a doctor for Christ's sake, surely you’re not leading an overly promiscuous life!
