Reboot Advice?

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by Deleted Account, Jul 17, 2017.

  1. I know that it completely depends on the guy and what he did to damage himself, but any clue to this would be nice.

How long could this reboot last? What could be done to speed it up? What slows it down?

Throughout all my streaks, these are the benefits that came, in order:

1: Fantasizing can give some arousal now.

2: Confidence increased, appreciation and attraction to women increased.

    3: Mind became sharper.

    4: Social skills improved.

5: Desire to be more social appeared.

...Upon thinking about it, there's been another improvement!

6: Morning wood has begun to appear. ( It was still quite weak, however and only happened yesterday. )

I need some advice. Is there any foods I should be eating, vitamins I should be taking? What about exercising? I read somewhere that having conversations with women help.

What would hinder the progress of the reboot? Looking at porn? Edging?

I'm asking here since upon doing a little bit of research seemed to not be the best idea. There was some information that sounded faulty. One guy said in a reddit post that edging exercises help, but that just sounds like a trap to relapse to me.

I'm still fairly confident I'll be able to perform when I'm with a girl for the first time, but I'll certainly feel better when the morning wood hits hard.

    Thanks for reading.

I'm not sure what can speed the reboot up other than patience and working on your self in other areas of your life. Exercise, absolutely yes!
I have more experience in what can slow it down, which is edging, p-subbing, looking at p, fantasizing and replacing the addiction with another addiction. And I also believe in going hard-mode, at least in the beginning. Let your mind and body take it's time to heal.

I think you can speed rebooting if you also take care more of yourself. Every week I ask myself these questions and try to find why I did not do them:
    • did I sleep at least 8 hours a night? If not why? If I'm playing games till the night, I discovered that an alarm at 11pm will make me aware that I should go to bed?
    • did I go to the gym or go running at least 3 times? I discovered that this is always because I didn't make this a routine. I found a friend to go to the gym with and I'm really ashamed if I skip a day.
    • did I eat a lot of junk food? When I was a student I would easily just go on chicken and hot dogs. As an experiment I became a vegetarian for a month to pay more attention to the things I was stuffing in my mouth. I've since ditched meat and my meals are way more healthier now, but you don't have to be so radical as me. Just start with adding a fruit a day and ditching the morning bacon for example.
I think if you can start with answering these questions and improving their answers, you can 1.5x your rebooting speed.

  4. Thanks to both of you for your answers. I think I have a pretty good idea of what to do now. :D
