I'm curious how long it took people to successfully reboot (however you might define successful) after learning about the effects of porn?

Personally, I have been aware of it somewhat for about 2 years, and have been seriously aware for the past 3 or 4 months, yet I still have not gone ten days without.

It took me 14 months of trying to "quit porn" before I realized, I was not, actually, trying to quit porn, I was trying to quit using it to get high. I had to understand I was using porn to achieve a dopamine high, a brain reaction, a neurological reward. Once I understood that, and only after I understood that, was quitting the addiction possible. After that, I went one full year, reporting clean every month, no porn, no PMO. It is not a matter of whether you can do it; you can. It is a matter of whether you are willing pay the price of pain for NOT doing it. QUITTING WAS A FUCKING BITCH. Have been clean, now, for about 5 years. Never going back; I don't want to feel the pain of getting clean again. Peace.

    Good luck, Chemical.

    Will I AM 1ANDDONE.

  3. Before nofap, I could tell porn was bad for me but couldn't get myself to stop.
It wasn't until my pre nofap beginnings of my third ever serious attempt that I actually began to learn something about porn addiction.

Rebooting time is different for every one. I thought reaching 90 days without ejaculating will reboot my brain, but ***k no. I am the same person even after the 160+ days...infact after that streak (my best streak ever since I started masturbating when I was 15 I think) I started camming, visited Massage parlours and jacked off.

What I'm trying to say, is, to whoever is reading this(who is trying to reboot), Rebooting only happens we actively engage in healthy activities and achieve our goals all the while going through a monk mode.

Healthy Activities: Working out, reading books, cold showers, healthy diet, meditation....
Monk Mode: Not entertaining any sort of erotic though. If they occur, just let them pass, Not fantasizing on any person real or on pixel...

    Godspeed!

Great post. You really do have to frame it in your mind like it’s a fucking drug addiction.
