Here is your list of enemies to avoid during your reboot
in order from greatest to least:

    1: PMO
    2: Porn
    3: Edging
    4: MO
    5: Orgasm with a Partner

The reason they are in order this way is that eventually, each of these CAN lead up to the next.

When you have an orgasm, regardless of the circumstances your brain releases a huge rush of feel-good chemicals. Naturally, your body will want more of those chemicals following the orgasm. This is called the chaser effect :emoji_runner:.

And in the first 90 days, this can be detrimental to your success.

Let's say you start with #5 and have sex with somebody. The next few days following that your brain goes:
    "HEY I WANT MORE! :emoji_astonished:"
so to give it what it wants you choose to masturbate :emoji_left_facing_fist::emoji_banana:.

That masturbation releases more chemicals and again your brain goes:
"THAT WAS GREAT, BUT NOW I WANT EVEN MORE STIMULATION :emoji_anguished:"
and so you start masturbating more often and for longer periods of time (edging).

Eventually, your brain will get used to that same buzz and it will say:
"NOW EVEN THIS ISN'T ENOUGH I WANT A BIGGER HIT OF DOPAMINE :emoji_grimacing:"

So to really rev up those chemicals you watch porn, and your brain goes crazy :emoji_dizzy_face:. Add an orgasm on top of that and you have officially sunk back into the trap. You will need more, and more, and more stimulation to give you the same buzz you had the first time. Before you know it you are caught in the vicious binging cycle habits that brought you to this site to seek help in the first place :emoji_rolling_eyes::emoji_face_palm:.

Am I saying you should never have sex or masturbate? :emoji_no_entry_sign: NO not at all, but what I am saying is that when your brain is fresh off of the PMO train :emoji_bullettrain_front: and you haven't built up a decent streak, it is much more likely for you to sink further and further into the progressive addiction cycle I explained above.

Not everyone will experience this in the same exact way, but everyone can admit that the rush of an orgasm is addicting. There are people out there that have sex and masturbate during their reboot and do okay but this is a dangerous line to walk and MOST people will fall off the edge.

So that being said, refraining from all orgasms for at least 90 days will give you the BEST chance of getting over this addiction. If there is never a rush of chemicals hitting your brain, there won't be a chaser effect to overcome and eventually, every day gets easier and easier. Then you can safely start to integrate sex back into your life without wanting to jump back into Porn. You will crave your partner(s), not your computer and THAT my friends, is the ultimate goal! :emoji_raised_hands:

    YOU GOT THIS!
