Hello everyone, I am a 23 year old man suffering from sissy fetish and weird types of OCDs. I recently had begun my NoFap journey to cure myself of these problems and managed to stay away from PMO for 15 days. This is the first time I was able to make it this far. However yesterday i.e the 16th day, I relapsed to PMO, and today morning I again relapsed to PMO. My question is - Do I have to reset my "number of days" record to zero? Or should I just reduce some number of days from my record and continue with my NoFap journey? Also, need advice on how I can complete my journey without relapsing in future.
You will keep getting a few days in until you relapse. Until you truly start putting work into recovery. Start being curious on why and what led you to porn in the first place. How old were you ? Is there anything in your past that was difficult? It's not enough to just say " I quit " you truly have to start digging up the past and discovering where it starts. Your porn use is just the symptom of something else . Maybe past trauma ? Addiction In your family already ? Somewhere down the line , you found porn and it made you feel good, safe or even numb . You have to go back, and find healthier ways to cope. You have to truly learn how that addictive voice talks to you. You need to learn about the things that trigger you . What your high risk situations are etc. Is there a 12 step group around your area ? I highly recommend that as well !
i would reset the clock.. but i know others would disagree. your benefits shouldn't go anywhere though. unless you start bingeing
@blacklabel92 Have set my record to zero and restarted again today. But like you said, even I feel that if you are a couple of weeks into a reboot and tend to relapse, it won’t take away much of your benefits. But since I relapsed after only 15 days, I think it would be better if I just reset my record to zero.
My advice is throw out the day counter and keep on going, who cares if you relapsed, what matters is you keep on freaking going do not let a bump on the road stop you from going where you need to go, sure that bump will cause some damage but it will not keep you from getting to your destination.
Yes, reset it. You aimed for 15 days clean, and you made it. That means that you completed your first nofap challenge. If you want to go longer or if you even want to take porn out of your life for good, then start studying your patterns: -What led you to PMO? -Did you have any specific thoughts prior to feel trigger? -Were you in a specific situation that trigger you? Your answers don't need to be related to sex, other stuff like stressful situations or anxiety might be the things that trigger you to PMO. Hope that helps.
yuup, im speaking from personal experience. i can understand why someone would want to count the days and keep track, not judging those people. i just do what works for me..
Today marks the 17th day of my fresh reboot. I can see that my condition is improving. I aim on reaching the 90 day mark this time
