I'm odd so that perhaps explains why I find the question odd I've never bothered to write the following down, so it's an exercise in thinking things through, so forgive the chunkiness.. To me a better question is: "what do you think religion is?" For me religion is: "what you believe will lead to joy". Most people seem to skip recognizing this as the fundamental starting point of what religion is about ( those who write dictionaries included ) and jump ahead to specifics while losing sight of what the specifics are for. And since I don't believe there is such a thing as a human who does not want joy, it follows I believe all humans have religion... i.e. they know, feel they know, believe they know, have an indication of a direction to go, that will lead to happiness. And likewise we all have either explicit or implicit beliefs on the value and origin of truth, the meaning of life, what love is etc. etc.
