1. For years, I have used P to soothe emotional distress. This is a problem. I "quit" several times with varying degrees of success. But ultimately, I slide back into it when times get tough. Beating this bad habit is essential to my life - physically, mentally, emotionally.
2. Continuing to use P will damage every aspect of my life's purpose and values. Integrity, honor, self-control, confidence, respect for others, and so on, - all the qualities of a good man will diminish, degrade, and die. These will be replaced by guilt, shame, self-loathing, objectification of persons, weakness and sickness, lost time, lost relationships, lost reputation...succinctly put: disaster.
3. There is every reason to quit and no reason to continue. But I need help. The neural pathways in my brain relating to this destructive habit are strong. It will take work and time to undo this damage. Currently, times are tough for me, but that's no excuse for weakness. There are no excuses for P dependency.
4. The destruction of P is undeniable. I have hope that NoFap and this community of like-minded people will be a place of safety and healing as I walk out of the darkness toward the light of freedom.
