Reward/forgive!

Discussion in 'Rebooting - Porn Addiction Recovery' started by Deleted Account, Nov 2, 2018.

  1. I slipped up 2 weeks ago.
-I had 90 days in the bag and had 1 bad day.
-I'm now back at 9 and had a bad 2 minutes today, then snapped out of it.
(4 years ago I use to fap 3-4 or more times a week, couple times a day even. ED happening in certain positions occurring in my early 20's & desensitization happening in a major way causing intimacy issues during sex driving some selfish sexual behavior.)

No. I'm not perfect, never will be. No. I can't say that i don't still have urges & difficult times. No. I'm not 100% porn free yet.(No excuses)

Yes. I have improved immensely over the years. Yes. All my sexual issues are gone irl. Yes. I found a loving relationship because of it. Yes. I have fallen down many, many times in this pursuit.

    BOTTOM LINE

Streaks are not everything, continuous persistence and improvement is.
Quitting unnecessary self-criticism, self doubt and beating up on ourselves is essential in this fight.
98/99 days were a success. That's something to be proud of, even if I'm not proud of the 1 bad day, that is an accomplishment.
Forgiving and rewarding ourselves for good days instead of only focusing on the bad helps keep us on track & continuously improving i feel..
    so i wanted to share.
<<<REWARD & PRAISE YOURSELF FOR ANY KIND OF PROGRESS!!>>>
No matter where you are at. day 1 or 1000, tell yourself "good job today". This has been my #1 pitfall over the years, being too harsh with myself & not focusing on improvements enough.

If that is what you think will work for you.

I for one benefit from stonecold no holds barred harsh and stern treatment.
