I’m young I’m only 17, and I have been trying to stop using porn for years, I don’t know why I do it I just do it, so I started this account in like November, but I totally forgot about it, if someone can help me through this process it would be great. I don’t know much about this website so it would be great if someone pointed me or navigated me throughout this website

You can start getting familiar with the vocabulary here: https://nofap.com/glossary/

Great to see you are starting so young! If you notice that your porn usage is a problem for you, it's a good idea to start right away. NoFap to me has a snowball effect, if I stop doing porn I get bored, so I need to replace that time with other activities. It gives me a lot of energy, and I don't channel that energy it's harder to me to resist the urges, so I need to work out, after a while I end up liking working out and do it for fun. I take my dog for more walks because I have no shame going out, my social anxiety also decreases a lot.

What I'm saying is that you need to have a plan in order to beat this addiction, if you are not going to spend time watching porn, what are you going to do instead? To me these are basics of NoFap, there are a lot more things, but the more time you read about it it makes more sense. Please let us know if you have any questions.

  3. To get a good start I think it is best to cut off your access to all of the websites and apps where you can access porn and triggering content. I have been using Cold Turkey on my computer and AppBlock on my mobile devices.
It's amazing that you are taking concrete action on this as a 17 year old.
Get a handle on it now and don't waste years like I did.. I knew I had a problem when I was 16 but kept going with the flow of my emotions.
    All the best to you!

Thank you so much for some help, I will definitely use these to help me. I play sports so I have been working out and things like that but I always catch myself watching porn before I go to bed so do you all have any ideas how I can stop doing that because I feel like if I stop doing it then, it will definitely help with any other times I have the urge to watch porn

  5. You can use Cold Turkey and/or App Block and set up a schedule where the apps and websites you use for porn are blocked during the night (for example from 9pm to 6am).
If you catch yourself trying to peak at these sites at other points in the day then I recommend blocking them 24/7.
