See I think online can be great for meeting women. But it can also have risks for guys like us.

I think it is fine to be on a dating site for instance just trying to find a woman in real life to chat to, to hopefully go on a date with ext. I think the internet is a great tool that can help you meet women in real life.

But the issue is for someone like me this would turn in to a problem in it's self. It's too much of a trigger. I honestly think I would end up using the dating site for something different, to flick about all those pictures of these attractive women, and then before I know it I would be masturbating, edging flicking about all their images. I think I would be excited to go on a site like this daily and do this.

So you can see what I am saying. I believe I would quickly start using the dating site for something different, too get my jollies basically.

So this is why I think a dating site is too much of a risk for someone like me. It really is a shame though, because like I said I do believe a dating site can be a great tool for getting in contact with woman that you could meet in real life. But I do believe I would end up using the dating site for a different purpose.

Swipe in public locations then with limited amount per day

  3. It could have some benefits but I much prefer the IRL approach.

I think that dating sites are a tricky situation. The purpose is to find someone you feel comfortable with and date him/her to see where it goes. However if you just log in to see pictures and to masturbate then that's a bad thing for you and if it means stop logging in to those apps then so be it. At least until your brain is rewired to not see images in that particular way

Yeah I think I would initially plan on using the dating site for the purpose it was created for in the first place, to meet someone. But what I think would end up happening is I would begin using the dating site for other purposes, and this is why I think it's too much risk for me to be on a dating site. Which like I said is a shame, as it can be a great tool for helping you to meet someone.

  6. Same here.
And I also think that the way it's presented, as if you were windowshopping, creates a somewhat weird illusion for us porn addicts. The spark starts with the pictures you see on the profiles. There's no real difference. And before you know it, you realize you're on a date with a girl because the picture "sparked" something and not because you're genuinely interested in dating her.
I think losing the habit of "shopping girls" online is a good idea for us. Or at least for me. I'm done with online dating.

There's also the risk of nearly every girl having a provocative picture, as is the case in my area on Tinder. Browsing Tinder here might as well be counted as a porn relapse.

This is the biggest reason I turned away from the dating sites, I was doing too much window shopping. What I'm doing now is put the whole idea of dating on hold and instead seek out groups of other men I can meet face to face who want to turn away from porn and live a better life. Dating can come after my brain has more healing.

  9. Yup, I'm taking a break from dating, as well to focus and work on myself first.
