Yes, this is the truth :) It is not bad to hear encouragement and solid principles in many different ways with many different examples.

At the same time, for me, I found that I was pigeonholing myself in the self-help section. I read a few consecutively last summer... and I found that sometimes I enjoy being along for the ride in a story that unravels moral philosophies in creative style, or in a way that is less preachy. Autobiographies, classic literature, science fiction, war novels -- those are all some examples of other books with great themes and moral lessons that are outside of the "self-help" section. The Autobiography of Malcolm X deeply impacted me for example as well as some of Kurt Vonnegut's and Ray Bradbury's literature.

Agree. Books never hurt but they are one of the many tools in the NoFap Mechanics Toolbox.

I haven’t read Atomic Habits but I think James C has it right—changing your habits is essential to quitting porn.

But I also agree with @alphakadabro : Paralysis by Analysis is practically reflexive in this day of info overload and the search for an easy answer.

physical strengthening—be it via weightlifting, yoga, paddle boarding etc—is a foundational pillar for any self-improvement. It creates purpose, goals, accountability, reward and fortitude. Why push so hard to make our minds healthier without pushing our bodies to be stronger?
