Sex Addict featured on Where Should We Begin? Podcast

Just listen to an episode of the Where Should We Begin? Podcast that featured a sex addict and it did a great job in showing how much pain a sex addict brings on a SO and how it can damage a family.

After listening to it I really think anyone who has any form of sex addiction (porn, affairs, seeing prostitutes) should not be thinking about having relationship, let actually pursuing a relationship until they've made it 90 days free.

I know not everyone thinks that way on here, but I think saying someone who PMO's should get in a relationship is like telling a kid who can't swim to jump in the deep end of a pool. Sure the kid might be saved by the lifeguard or he might drown but at least he experiences the deep end of the pool. Such advice is irresponsible and so is us pursuing a relationship while PMO. My opinion might seem a bit unfair and miserable but I've tried dating during PMO and it turned out to be a bad idea. A SO can't get you to beat your addiction, only you can beat it yourself. I haven't made it past 90 days so I'm not pursuing a relationship yet. Of course you are free to disagree with me but do try to listen to the podcast to get some insights.

I think if you're already in a relationship I you must do whatever you can to beat the addiction. Also don't lie to your partner about if asked and don't make false promises. The wife of the sex addict on the podcast said the thing that hurt the most was that when he was first caught he said he would never do it again but he of course went back on the promise.
