I've been struggling lately with Porn & Sex Addiction. The addiction is leading me to pursue sex with individuals I would never have pursued if I weren't addicted.

The lack of self-control, and the things I've done, have caused me a great deal of shame. I won't go into the details, but if you've seen the movie "Shame", that give a fairly good idea of what I'm like.

I would like to completely stop, and reclaim my masculinity - but it's a real struggle. It's so difficult I just want to "give in" to all my desires, and accept my place within society. A small part of me (the sane part of me) knows this is wrong.

I need encouragement. Is life really that much better after addiction? Is it worth the pain of giving up?

It's NOT. Once you realize that porn addiction(and sex addiction) is doing nothing but fucking up your life it should be easy..is it hard to NOT drink poison?!..is it hard to not eat glass ?..now you have to see porn addiction as that..its a slow suicide .
If your case is similar to the movie "shame"..then you probably know that no amount of giving in to your desires will ever make you truly happy..ironically it will make feel empty and lost the more you indulge in your desires .true happiness comes from self-discipline and overcoming your desires. The Buddha was meditating in the forest for weeks..no food ..no water..nothing..and all the sudden it hits him..the secret of happiness is by resisting one's desires.
If it is not then you probably won't bother to come here and seek help . All I can tell you is that porn addiction is fucking guaranteed to ruin your life and rot your soul to the core..get yourself out of there man..you know you should.. you know you can ..you know you will.

Yes, because leaving that life you currently have and facing the shame and guilt leads to a more fulfilling life. We all have a choice sir in this addiction. Some people addiction different than yours but we all have to decide whether we want a better life than what we have now.

Start changing slowly if you can, it doesn’t have to be this immediate about face. It’s not going to all happen over night you know. Everything takes time. If you need encouragement come on this board when you needs help.
