I really need someone's help. I am starting a small thread because I need someone to answer one of my questions. The question is: While trying to reboot my brain through no masturbation or viewing porn, can I still enjoy sexual activities with someone or will it reset the reboot?

It's really up to you. The most important thing here is that you quit porn forever. Porn is the one messing up with your head.
If you quit masturbation you are going to experience a lot of benefits that semen retention gives. Quitting sex is optional too, some people say it will help you to heal faster from porn, for me is the other way around. Having sex while doing NoFap is the best way an easiest way to go to recover from porn. Choose your path and see how it goes.

  4. I think that is possible and even better, but it depends on the context. Like if you are in a relationship and you just have sex with your partner the sex is going to improve and the commitment is going to work for both of you.

The las time i tried sex while rebooting, i endup having sex every day. I was hooking up and having sex daily, and believe me bro: that is not rebooting. You can be a silly dumb MF like me and endup relieving the anxiety with compulsive sex.

I dont recommend it. Go monk

Thank you for the response! I understand what you are saying, but I don't think having sex will be a daily/usual occurrence for me.

Sex for me leads to a chaser effect which makes the time after to sex be more difficult.

Did you read this nofap reboot guide? You're on what is called 'normal' mode and can enjoy sex without the need to reset the reboot.

I've O'd during lovemaking with my wife after two weeks into my 90 days challenge and didn't like it. I lost the momentum I had built up and lost the benefits of hard mode (stronger willed, better focused, more energetic etc). So, now we're doing Karezza which to be frankly was a relief that has made me feel closer to her than ever before.
I've decided during reboot I'm not going to O at all. When I'm clean I may start again during lovemaking, but it's a tricky business with my past.

I personally quit PMO due to emotional numbness and it is said that a reboot will fix this. Will sex slow this down? Or even cancel the whole reboot??

I think that moderation is important. Emotional numbness is my problem too and not PMO'ing has confronted me with the emptiness inside. I don't think ejaculation once in a while is really going to fill the gap. However, I'm not sure since I completely stopped O. Maybe stopping PMO completely is the safe way, if you're not certain. Try it out, if you want to know.

I noticed that since stopping PMO my mind is frantically looking for other addictions to fill the emptiness. I've now decided not to run away from it anymore and allow it to come into my life. This is hard for me, as I now need to allow the empty feeling to be within me.
  10. Hello Anthony! I feel that after having sex I am much more vulnerable and in danger to fall back into old habbits. I am sure it won't reset your progress because sex and masturbation especially with porn are complete different, but it probaby will give you an appetite for more. At least it does for me. The further your progress is the easier it should get to resist though.

I don't know about others but I did sex 6 to 8 times during reboot and having sex for two or three times didn't affect my overall performance but as I started increasing the number the benefits from Nofap started to reduce and hence I prefer not to do it unless your partner gets annoyed.

This is what scares me too. You avoid porn for ages, then are presented with a naked women in an overtly sexual situation. Surely this will trigger horrible symptoms/withdrawals in many of us?! Not really sure what the answer is.....

Experiencing sexuality in connection with a woman is wonderful. The mind-driven orgasm-focused sexuality is the problem. Making love with practices like Karezza, keeps us away from the 'old' way of dealing with sexuality and gets us in a connected mode. Of course in the reboot phase it's smart to be careful since our old pathways are still very much alive. When we feel less tempted to fall into that trap, we can make love in any loving relationship.

Nothing wrong with it. Sex is the most natural thing a human can do.

It's the same for me. I feel that having sex with my loved one actually helps me in my recovery process (rewiring + strengtening of our physical and emotional bond). Then again, we don't live together yet and have possibility to only meet on weekends so I get plenty of days with no sexual arousal or activity too.

Denying yourself sex because it would lead to porn relapse only further cements that idea in your brain.

I personally perform in the act of sex, however not that often, few times a month plus no cumming.
To build concentration for such act, approximately an hour of meditation a day helps, peace and good luck on your journey!
