    Hello,

When I was kid, I always wanted to be a soldier.

My dad hated the army (he used to be officer to make the forced army year when he was young) and always told me that I was a fool.

He always discouraged me, with success, about joining the force.

Cause I have glasses, I cannot join the commando but that's what I want.

In my country, since 2016, it is allowed to become parachutist after a lasyk operation.

I tried to join the army, like, 5 times, always stopped after the first step of "being informed". I never did more than being informed.

My dream is to become a soldier, to serve in the special forces.

I'm a now an engineer, I work in a big company, but I'm also 25 and a little beast. I can do 6 pull up with +14Kg (my weight is 86 for 186cm). I bench press 110Kg with no problem and I'm going to improve even more.

But my dad said that I would never be a commando since I have a poor vision (even if I got operation), that I'm too educated (Master Grade), I got allergy (pollen, iodine).

I'm also an "ex little thug" that did some retared shit, like running naked and drunk in the street when I was young too make people laugh at a party. Got arrested with charges (night noise and alcohol, nothing more). I was 19

Also got arrested (with no charge) for jumping into a river being drunk. I got sent into the hospital the psychiatric part to keep me away from people cause I was drunk. They also wanted to know if I tried to kill myself. Nope, I just wanted to cross the river cause I found the idea fun at the time. I was 21.

This is my dream, I just want to join the special forces, to serve and protect. My inner me always told me "DO IT FAGGOT". Now that lasyk is allowed, I just want to work and pay the operation and then leave the company to join the special forces.

I used to be a weak man, I mean, I had a poor mental and poor strength. I used to wieght less than 60Kg. I cried like a little bitch once in a while cause mah feely where hurted by this or that.

Years have passed, I think that I'm really strong now. I feel that I'm missing my dream. Every one says that I'm a fool ruining my carreer for that cause, I have a good place, a good education, a good salary but that's not what count to me. I feel like I'm missing my dream and wasting my times.

I also think that I have acted like a retard cause I do not had the life I wanted to have. Now fuck it, fuck everyone and everything, the only thing that count is my opinion, I want to join the army and be in the special forces.

But I also fear that I will be rejected for my past. I fear to ruin everything and give my dad a good reason to be right.

What do you think about my situation ?

    Should you join the army?

So why are you even asking?

Don't let a bunch of strangers on a forum decide your future for you.

Because I may over react and compromise a nice futur for something that won't fit me. I mean, I am an adult, there is no easy way there..

It's true, I should not even ask, I should go and fuck it.

I'm just wondering if it's wise to give up everything. I'm scared to fail, I'm scared to be rejected or sent in something I don't want to do.

I'm looking for help and answer, will they reject me and say "nah you're too educated to waste your time" which would completly ruin the view I have about the army if someone in the army say that cause my education does not add value to my person even if people tend to think that, I don't.

If you want an opinion, I want to clarify that this is just a point of view and I can't really tell what's best for your life. And that at the end the decision is entirely yours and that you are the one who's responsible for your life and the decisions.

So, I think that you have an interesting dream, but when you asked about your past and your future, I have to ask you something. I know that at that age we have all done all sorts of dumb things and stuff like that, but do YOU think that those will still affect you today? If you do follow your dream you should know that it will be a challenging lifestyle and that in the future might find yourself in a position where you'll have to make some very difficult choices and you'll have to learn to live with the outcome of those decisions. So I ask you, do you think you are strong enough? I don't mean physically, I mean mentally. Because you'll need a lot of resilience, maturity, and willpower to that particular field. I just want to make sure you understand the value of the responsibility that comes with your dream.

If the answer is yes, then I think that's the final answer. Truth is I believe past always has a connection to our present. But what really matters is what we do with our future. And I believe it because I am in this community looking for a better future free from porn. So, be mindful of the outcomes of your decision before you decide to ignore everyone else. I gotta say that I have nothing to do with the army, soldiers, or any of it. I'm just assuming what you'll face. Whatever the final decision is, good luck.

  5. Its a big commitment , I have never been in the army but I know of people who have served its a lot different than being a regular guy I would do a lot of research before you signed up for it. The people I know that served said it was a lot different then they thought it would be and could not wait to get out . At the end of the day its the man staring back in the mirror that makes the choice to enlist or not I wouldn't make any drastic moves without thinking it over for a couple of months.

Sorry I don't really understand everything (I'm not english).

Well, if you said : Do you think that your past will come back and people will blame you for this after reaching a certain position. My answer to this : Fuck. Them. Really. I do have paid my debt to the society and it was a little one, but I did paid for it. I have changed a lot and if I joing the army and someone come to me to make fun of me or try to block my progression, I will just leave or find someone with a brain that can help me to punish such a disgrace. Cause I think it is a disgrace to blame someone for a stupid thing he has done and paid for it after he gave his time and courage to his country (and for the people of the world) after renoucing a paisible life.

If you said : Do you think that your (bad) past choice affect you now ? No. Do you think that you will be able to take an hard decision and live with ? If it makes people life better, I won't ever ask myself the question. I will just do. I do believe that the army is not a bunch of retard with m249 that shoot everything. Soldier are humans being that give their time and sometimes their life, even by not being killed, just to face terrible thing that they won't ever be able to forget. I have the true conviction that I will be able to live with everything that will come up with a life in the army, in the special force (if I ever join them). Because I feel that I won't waste my time anymore on earth, because I will fulify my deep desire to give my time and life to people that need it the most.

I hope that I've answered your question, if not, let me know about that !

Edit : Well I think you clearly asked me if I tought that I'm mature enough to join the force. I will be honest, truly honest. I'm thankful that my dad discouraged me for my eyes. Because I still want to join the special force but before I knew that I would be able to after a lasyk operation. I did focus on my studies and become a man. I would have failed between 18-23, 100%. Since I'm 24, I think that I am an adult man, working changed me a lot tho. Now I'm 25 and I feel like that I can do it not just because I want, but because I feel like that I'm made for it, I believe in this and I know that I will always regret not (trying to) joining the special force. Cause I feel like a tough boy, inside and outside that will be able to take the charge of such a complicated work. I deeply want it and I'm convinced that I'm made for this. Period.

@cleanliving81 I have tought about it for years, since I'm a kid and I've met multiple soldier in order to enlist but I never did cause I was always discouraged by my father whom was right about my glasses.. But since 2016, you can enlist in the commando after a lasyk operation. So I will make this operation with the idea to enlist after the time of recovery (one year). Since you need 6-9 month to have a rendez vous to make the eye operation and one year to wait to be able to enlist. I will think, deeply, about enlisting or not. I promiss ! (to myself)

  7. I used to want to join army few years back. I trained for it and got in really great physical shape. My goal was also special forces. I never enlisted though because I could not due to some family responsibilities. When I think back I feel sad that I could not, even today. I think it would be good for me. By now I would be already out of it and would take a lot of value with me. But I would never enlist now. Because I have changed as a person. I value human life more and my political views have changed as well.

It's kind of true that they want well trained drones. And while they want mindless drones they do want mindless drones who are very intelligent at the same time. So education would surely serve you as an advantage in my opinion.

Afraid to give up everything to go into army? If so then maybe you should not. Because giving up everything is kinda the point. You give up your personal identity and get it replaced with group identity. You give away your time - you may need to be away on missions for long periods of time, work long hours, etc. You may be put in a situation where you die, or even worse, get crippled by losing your limbs. You give up your life for the country.

I would recommend asking yourself why you want to do it. Is it because you feel like proving something to yourself or others? Is it because it will make you a harder man or validate your identity as a hard man? Is it because you love your flag and people of your country more than you love your own life and want to devote it to protect them? Is it simply because you want to have enjoyable career? There are right reasons and there are wrong reasons.

If you want to, then you should do it. Just make sure it is for the right reason, and not just to spite your dad. But if being a part of that is a dream, then you should go for it. I'm sure you can learn many skills and share good experiences.
