Shouldn't everything in life be done in moderation?

This is something that has been bothering me for a while...
Today I finally got a subscription for the gym and I'm planning on working out for about an hour two times a week. And on top of that just occasional "opportunistic" exercise.
Taking the stairs instead of the elevator, for example.
But especially on reddit's r/noFap, the breeding-ground of bro-science, I often read statements along the lines of "I do lift every single day and do cardio three times a week and go for a six mile jog every morning and (...) YOU ABSOLUTELY MUST DO ALL OF THIS IF YOU WANT TO HAVE THE SLIGHTEST CHANCE OF SUCCESS AT NOFAP."

Now, two things come to mind:
First and most obviously: That can't be healthy. I'm no physician but asn an archaeologist I gotta know a thing or two about human anatomy too. And one thing I recently learned is that anything above moderate exercise about twice a week is actually harmful for your bones, tendons and muscles on the long run.
And secondly: Isn't part of noFap also about becoming more balanced? This, to me, looks a lot like it's just replacing one compulsive form of escapism with another one.

    moderation in moderation.
NoFap has lots of people with lost s of diverse ideas and strategies.
In some ways, we set out own goals and work out whats right for each of us as individuals.
Moving away from porn and stopping a pattern of PMO has been mine.
Since being here on this site, I have had a couple of MOs, but the major idea, not using porn has not reoccured.

it gets a lot easier as time goes on and it is ok to fall, as long as you keep trying I think - my purely personal observation.
i can also say that being super harsh on your self doesn't help either.
there will be lots of others here who will have different comments too.

No. I don't follow the reddit sub-forum, as 1. reddit is full of porn and it's easy to get distracted and 2. the reddit sub-forum is full of bro-science. I believe you will find more well rounded individuals here than those on reddit.
I agree that excessive exercise/ lifting weights etc is harmful for your body but would question the validity of the second sentence in your statement. Where is this information from? Above all, after exercising/ lifting weights the body needs some time to heal. I have been advised by physios/ sport scientists that one rest day a week minimum is required, however it would be ideal to rest for approximately 48 hours between workouts. That said, it is perfectly acceptable to do different workouts on different days as different muscle groups will be being worked.

Even fapping, in theory is fine if done in moderation. However it is bloody hard to fap in moderation, especially for addicts!
