I have been having mad difficulty sleeping lately, I think it’s because my brain thinks that I need to use in order to sleep I think this is what’s really killing me from quitting entirely Because I don’t really use at any other point in the day or as many times throughout the day like I used to, it’s pretty much almost exclusively late at night when I try to put myself to sleep I’m losing sleep over this and I don’t know what to do
Try using one of the brown/green etc noise recordings on YouTube. I use pink and purple noise when my mind is going “wahwahwah”. It’s really helpful.
This issue is that your body has become used to getting that dopamine high before sleep. You can try many other things, like exercising right before bed or meditation. Your body will take about 21 days to become used to not receiving MO before bed before you get a new sleep pattern. The best is to replace it with something else that tires you out or calms your thoughts.
the primary function of sleep is rest and regeneration. your body / mind will not want to go to sleep unless you are tired. So don't be surprised if you've been sitting on your ass all day playing games and watching movies and you can't sleep
That problem is your dopamine is off. You may just use at night but your brain wants it's fix, and when you do this to sleep it is never a restful sleep. Although you may feel like you have slept better some nights than others, you would have more rest without it. You need to stop the porn, but it will be a few day if not a week or more until you sleep cycle will be adjusted by your body, but you must not use porn at all. Dopamine is also there to regulate sleep, but if you have been using it for porn you will always have problems. I have dealt with this for a long time. Try listening to the radio or an audio book, but at the very least the first and second night will not be easy to go to sleep, but eventually your body will get to where you get tired at night. Try getting up early everyday, may help a little until your body will naturally get tired at the end of the day.
- try to read something every night - take a warm shower -stay in a room at the right temperature - make a hot tea -turn off the devices 2 hours before going to bed
