Anyone else struggle with a smoking addiction I quit last year and relapsed this winter day 2 today using an e-smoke with a low dose of nicotine but my biggest trigger is my job going back there tomorrow.

yes, today is day one no cigs, had 58 days no cigs but with relapse of Pmo, the anxiety led to smoking again. I have a booze problem too so hopefully I maintain that or else I'm sure I'll puff another cig soon.

I'm struggling with many things in my life at the moment but thankfully smoking is no longer one of them.

I mentioned this on another thread somewhere and I still like to go back to it once again: I remember hearing ages ago the model Kate Moss controversially saying that "no food tastes as good as being skinny feels", and I am definitely a believer in that "no cigarette is as good as being a non-smoker feels". I know it's really easy for me to say this because I've quit, and I won't allow myself to become one of those pain-in-the-ass patronising people (oh why don't you just quit! I did!) because seriously man, I used to absolutely love smoking and I know that stopping it is hard.

I know there are times when a cigarette just feels like the perfect thing for the situation you're in. For me it was definitely when I had a beer in one hand, having a cigarette in the other hand just felt like the perfect combination. Or if you're in a loud or hot bar/ club/ party, going outside for 5 minutes to cool down, relax, have a smoke... awesome feeling.

But I absolutely SWEAR to you that no matter how amazing that feeling is, being a non-smoker feels better. Not being out of breath all the time, having a better taste and smell, saving money... you really notice how bad smokers smell (which you don't notice when you are a smoker)...

You said for you a big trigger is going back to work... is it because all your co-workers smoke? or do you work in a place where you don't get many breaks and sneaky out for a quit smoke is the only time you get a minute of peace?

  5. Trust me its natural to relapse on cigarettes. On average a person relapse 7 times before quitting it finally.
The best thing is that you want to quit.
So here is what i did, after a countless times of relapsing (more than 20) and cursing myself and trying all the alternatives to smoking i started two simple things and they worked for me
A close friend suggested me this, i bought an app Quit Now Pro,Android, i guess there is a free version available ( if not there are free way to get the pro app as well.) and i bought an ebook Allen Carr's Easy Way to Stop Smoking
I tried cold turkey and it has been 326 days.
The only mistake i made was that i started smoking pot or hash after 6-7 months. that also counts as smoking .
I've reset the counter on quit now and its working very well. All of my friend smoke, my office colleagues smokes, they sometimes force me to smoke as well but after reading the book nothing worked on me. i can stay smoke free forever without any hassle.
So please give the book a chance, maybe it was easy for me to quit this way but giving it a try would not hurt.

If u have any other question please feel free to ask, i have a lot of experience with relapsing . :)

    Happy quit my friends
