Hey this is more of a rant but I feel so bored of life? The only thing that gives me joy is smoking weed and drinking alcohol and I haven't done those two things in a while because I know it's not good for your health. But that is the reality it seems.

Maybe I'm in a bad situation at the moment financially, job wise etc but life just sucks, I have all these dreams of being a successful person doing my own thing, making my own money and all that but my mind is empty.

If I'm not at work, I can literally lay in bed all day binge watching youtube, if the weather is nice I just walk around London drinking beer alone and smoking cigarettes. Like I have 4 days off and I know its going to be spent doing fuck all, or working towards fuck all because idk what I want

I have nothing that makes me want to get out of bed. Yes I workout quite a lot, I don't have intentions of fapping tbh -this is more of a overall life thing I'm feeling.

@gandu_ Seems to me as if you may be a little lonely? Maybe you're ok with you're own company, so don't necessarily feel lonely, but I mean lonely as in not having other people to share passions and interests with? That you workout a lot is great, but anyway you could make it more social? Getting people you like being with, and who like being with you, makes everything seem so much more worthwhile.

I read this article and it really set me thinking about what I like doing and who I like doing it with:

FIND WHAT YOU LOVE AND LET IT KILL YOU

It's by a guy called Mark Manson, who thus far, is the only online writer I subscribe too, I find his work that interesting. He's written a couple excellent books too, so if you like that article and his others, I suggest giving them a go to:

THE SUBTLE ART OF NOT GIVING A FUCK: A COUNTERINTUITIVE APPROACH TO LIVING A GOOD LIFE

    and

EVERYTHING IS F*CKED: A BOOK ABOUT HOPE

Fingers crossed they kickstart you to do find out what you want to do!

I'd like to say yes but deep down maybe not as much as I should. It's been a working progress and I do feel like that little negative voice is getting silenced ever so slowly.

Thanks so much for the material. Thing is I'm not really fussed about having a big social network, my gripe is I wish I had something to work towards. Long story short and as stupid as it may seem to a lot of people here as there is a big stigma attatched to it. When I was younger I played team sports a lot, basically since the age of 2 is when I began that journey. Couple that with being the youngest sibling I was very competitive and still am to this day. When I got to about 18 I stopped playing sports and I had been playing an online game since age 13/14 on/off. However I found out this game had a competitive scene and that's all I lived for, my only goal was to become the best. I competed etc but again I didn't put all my effort in after 2 years or so and got side tracked with girlfriends, going out, getting into that "social" lifestyle. This basically killed my passion and I never got back into it the same way.

Now I just feel like an empty shell, I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do now. Tbh I still have the passion to compete or do something in that field but I'm a lot older now, job, thinking about future etc Idk just seem lost basically.

For the last 4-6 years I've just become like useless, just go to work, drink beer or smoke weed, waste time on yt thinking what can I do...ah well.

@gandu_ Thanks for filling out your story. So if I understand correctly you’re lacking a sense of direction, wondering “What do I do now?” It’s a big question!

I won’t pretend that I know the answer to that one. I’d recommend quitting the weed because mentally that’s just going to make you feel lethargic. I’ve been there too, so know how it feels. A decade spent not really doing much. In combination with beer probably doesn’t help either!

Again, I’d recommend reading some of Mark Manson’s articles because I can’t think of anyone else who will get you thinking about this stuff from a short read that’ll only take you 5-10 minutes. Have a look at the first 10 articles in particular from his Top 20 List:

    https://markmanson.net/best-articles

Hope it helps and gets the ball rolling. Keep up with NoFap and good luck. Plenty of people on here to talk to.

  6. So your bored, your practicing nofap and working out and that is great one feeds the other by not tossing the sausage or watching porn your desire goes up to release this energy so I am assuming you work out when that happens . Energy is built up in the body from practicing nofap mental and biological a example of one biological benefit is increased testosterone great for working out . Instead of watching Netflix replace it with doing absolutely nothing the natural result you will notice life it self has some newness your brain doesn't know the difference of a movie or real life so in a sense your tricking / stimulating your system into thinking it did something. So trick it back to serve you. There is many more tools besides nofap , nofap has worked the best for me though .

  9. well sleeping is great, i agree hahaha
my opinion is that once u had strong stuff like weed and alcohol, u can't enjoy ordinary things simply to their fullest.. so u are in the right path as u stopped them, my advice is to seek sth that makes u laugh.. for example.. i dunno if u like kids, but they are so funny!!
(and i dunno if what i am saying makes sense lol)
