    BLOCKERHERO is a great one!
    it blocks everything you tell it too, even incognito mode, and every video that have hashtags that might make the video appealing
    its blocks insta searches, explore pages that could have appealing pictures and videos.
    it can block fb, youtube etc. reels if they affect you in anyway
    and it also have focus mode if you want to get things done and cant because of your thoughts you wont be able to use your phone at all.
    and the best feature it has a uninstall protection so you cant uninstall it in the moment of weakness.
    good luck fellas.

    Leechblock is really good; it has a tinyFilter that blocks certain words (you specify these) in the domains of websites so you can't access them. It also has all the normal features of a blocking service, so you can write down specific websites you want blocked, or block all websites save for a select few.

    Kidzsearch is also good, if you want to absolutely slam the door on all temptations. It's a search engine designed for kids that blocks all the websites that--you guessed it--would be harmful to kids. You would first have to block all your other search engines though, or else it's null.

    If anyone wants a more elaborate approach to it, I've been using a combination of OpenDNS and Pihole, which allows for:
    - Easily blocking websites by categories, directly from openDNS website;
    - Blocking ads in general (which occasionally may get more sexual than just offering products);
    - Freezing Google into Safe Mode (and you can't deactivate it in the browser, be it on PC or cellphone, in the same network);
    There's a tutorial on Youtube which makes it simple to understand and set up:

  6. Hello,

    I just wanted to recommend some software resources. These will be specifically for Windows and Android.

    This first is called Detoxify. They have a great blocker that also allows for accountability. This app also has a pin feature that helps with uninstalling. If you don't have someone who can create a pin, they do have a randomized pin option as well; this pin can be retrieved by contacting their support team via E-mail, however, they usually respond within 24 hours so plenty of time to cool down if temped. I've found that to be extremely helpful.

    The next option is Purity Browser. It's made by the same company as Detoxify. It also has options for pin protect, disabling images, filtering from porn, and even an option to put key words to recognize and block.

    Both of these apps for Android have measures in place to prevent tampering so you can hard reset your phone, well not easily, or tamper with setting that might stop the filter from working.

    While nothing is fool proof, I've found them to be one of the best developers so far.

  8. I'll just let you know the tools I use on my browser, which seem to be where I personally slip up the most.

    Extensions installed specifically for P: 1. a9 Web Protection ( highly Recommend), 2. BlockAge Adult Blocker,
    Extensions installed specifically for redeeming my time, and 2nd hand possibilities of seeing P: 1. BlockSite, 2. Website Blocker.

    I plan on getting up to 6-7 on my web browser and am currently looking for some to add to my computer. I don't have issues with my phone thankfully, mainly because I got rid of the internet altogether on it (contact me if you want more info on how I live without the web on my phone ).
    The only problem with extensions is its just one click away from deactivating it sadly, but personally, this has worked for me. The warning signs that are put up are enough for me to snap out of my head and realize what I'm doing. The slower I have access, the better.

    I personally suggested REMOJO. It's a pretty good accountability software that can prevent you from deleting it or disabled it in 24 hours. It also blocks a lot of sites that may contain nasty content.
    And don't forget to get closer to God and pray to him often, or these app or software will be meaningless if the strong urges strike. God bless!

    My strategy is a combination of screen capture for which my wife can go through and blocking bad sites at the host level.

    I can heartily recommend blocking websites at the hosts file level: https://github.com/StevenBlack/hosts
    Although it is a bit technical, and much easier to do on unix-based operating systems.
    And it is quite tedious to reenable, but of course you can do so.

    Doesn't the blocking software just delay the relapse. I have never met anyone who uses the blockers and didn't eventually turn them on when they were hit by the urges. It seems to me that we are turning out attention to the wrong thing. By blocking we are telling ourselves that we are not able to resist which then in turn will become apart of our identity. And in todays world no matter how many blockers u use some will still slip by it.

  12. I far prefer accountability software to blockers. Blockers fall short for the reason you mention and also because they keep us isolated and in the fight alone. Accountability brings the support of our community into the fight with us and connects us with others, while filtering nothing. If we choose to view junk, our trusted APs will know, but the choice of what to view is still entirely up to us. I find these tools a help even after years of freedom from P and MO.

  13. Good point. I have used blockers in the past, but I have managed to find ways to slip by it. Yet for me what can help is to keep myself busy every day and spend time with God word. I tried accountability partners in the past but eventually the accountability partners would go their own ways, or too busy in life and loose contact, or tensions with the Accountability partners which resulted in lose of contact with the accountability partner that is not related to overcoming PMO. It is great that there are guys that have them now still. I will just pray about what God wants me to do. Yet what can help too is fasting as well.
