Some Messages I Made To Myself

When I first started on NoFap, it was the hardest thing I've ever done. I struggled to even go past one day it just felt "wrong" you know. Everything was a trigger for me and everything in and around me said "masturbation is healthy, porn is normal, curb your emotions naturally, express your love for youself" Although I've recently fell victim to my urges, I still know that I am way better than I was in January of this year.

When I was in the throes of my addiction, like every hour by myself was torture, I would sit in my game room with the door open to clear my head. One night, I decided to clean out my desk/chest in there and saw my old scrabble set. I spelled out "YOU ARE MORE THAN YOUR BASE DESIRE TO MASTURBATE" and took a picture of it to mark the day I would do everything I could to take control of my urges.

That first message to my PMO-addicted self is now my avatar. I took it upon myself to try and make a message like that and take a picture of it whenever I was struggling in the early days of my NoFap attempts. Hopefully someone can see these and know that this shit isn't easy. I am not perfect, hell, I just had to reset my counter due to dealing with rejection the wrong way. But I just want you to know, you that is reading this, you are not alone in your struggle. One day you will look back and know you are stronger than you were before you knew what NoFap was. You will know because I know and I am no better than you! Yes, Miguel Ruiz did inspire that last line...

Also its good to know that K9 doesn't block this site on my laptop. I had to resize these so I could post them. Thank you NoFap and my NoFap family, I haven't made a complete recovery yet but I will continue to push towards my goal of beating this addiction!

Yes we all have our own journey; they are all different but "similar" at the same time. This community is here as a place of motivation and guidance! Good luck to us indeed, Dandelion30!:D

Thanks, helterskelter, I'm glad these messages are helping you! I'll check out your post on emotions cause I identify with that struggle.

Thank you for sharing your story and good luck with your journey! NoFap is so much helping me out and I really love this community. I wouldn’t have come to this point if it weren’t for NoFap... Together we can do this! :)

Shooooot, I'm trying to be like you,Force Majeure! But this is my journey and I hope you and everyone else who has found NoFap reaches their goals!

Hey, awesome post, man. My favorite: "Real sex is not your goal it's about finding yourself."

Thanks Salvacion! I'm glad it's helping you!

Yeah that was a revelation for me. I usually would relapse because I was waiting for some girl to magically appear and "fix" me with real sex. But NoFap is about us becoming our true selves!

Open up to a trusted friend too. It will give you more power

Exactly, Union! But at the time, I had no one I felt comfortable enough in which to confide. I wish I did at the time but that's what this community is for, right?
