Some NoFap moderators could be occasionally unfair?

Now that I am happy with how things have been resolved, I will ammend my title, it's now less of a statement and more of a mystery for any future issues.

  2. I should've clarified more. To be honest I'm not 100% sure that he got an instant ban, that's what he claimed happened. He made another account shortly after and PM'd me that. And yeah to be honest the content of the jokes were kinda inappropriate. Thank you for responding No Brainer.

    That's a thought @NoBrainer What constitutes a warning?
Is it a separate alert stating that "this is a warning" or is it incorporated within for example post deletion?

Actually yeah, just to clarify: the user in question was indeed instantly banned, however he had received warnings for previous (and separate) offences. He was banned for posting a pornographic image on the thread that you mentioned, which was later removed from view (the thread) as it was encouraging foul play (such as instances like the image). His intent was not to cause arousal- he meant it as a joke, and claimed afterwards that "only a sick fuck like you would find that arousing"... While I wasn't offended by that statement, I fail to see how that is an excuse for posting a picture of naked people having sex on a porn recovery forum, especially as it states in the rules:
The user in question did indeed return as another user as you say Lazarus. He was not discouraged by us, but soon lost interest in the site and he hasn't logged in since (on his new account).

  5. Mods on this site are pretty decent, they are great unpaid employees of Alexander (i dont know if they actually get paid or not, think its voluntary). Always been responsive to my silly requests/questions on all my previous accounts.

You can't expect anyone to manually review every mod deciscion, that defeats the purpose (what if a mod gota delete a porn link????) however, what you can do is add a feature that adds a line for the moderator to give an input in the deleted comment and shoot a notification pm to the user why the post was deleted.

So its like they click to delete and it prompts them to enter a message :"Offensive language/evading filters" whatever and it shoots it to the user or they can pm them as well. Problem solved. if you want to know why your message was deleted you can always pm NoBrainer (pretty much the most active/responsive moderator) or any other mod for that matter.

Now lets test if this comment will get deleted, troll text below

It didn't take long for me to fall out with one of the staff here. Day two and it's already happened.
He likes a post of mine, then goes in a couple hours later and removes the like. Then gets snarky when asked why.
Welcome to the forum for me, eh?

What baffles me is the illogical nature of it. No matter. It revealed pretty quickly who I cannot trust. I don't need mercurial and capricious people in my battle against this serious issue.
It's as if the trash took itself out.

Thanks for your unsolicited input. I won't reveal any details of my private interaction with said staff member, but suffice to say I don't trust individuals who are evasive and fickle.

@Lone_Wolf ... that's a thing I do, too. I sometimes use the "Like" button for "bookmarking" some posts that I can then go back to - easily available from profile. Sometimes I later decide that the post wasn't that great or I've found something that says the same thing, but in a better or easier way for me. So then I just "clean up" my bookmarks and unlike.

Like/unlike isn't a big thing, people use it in different ways. I think that's what @Lazarus Shuttlesworth is saying too.

AND: welcome to the forum, I wish you the best in your battle!! What a wonderful username, by the by. Reminds me of some fantastic gamebooks that I caught on to many years ago, and which are still exceptionally readable and fun, even at my age...

One big root cause for PMO addiction is a negative approach towards life. For exampe being aggressive all time.

In this forum, people want to get out of the addiction. Therefore, they need support and serious advice, and not more aggression.

One very important step in the healing is to make peace with oneself and with the people around you, and for this, you need positive support.

  14. Your right, I was wrong for just stating that without knowing the situation fully. My bad bro. Wish you nothing but success on your nofap journey.

Hmm, I can understand Wolfie not trusting NoBrainer whom he considers to be evasive and fickle.

Indeed. And not a reply from said staff member that starts with, "Oh for f*ck's sake..."

"Oh for fuck's sake", is not a very professional comment from a moderator.

Yeah, too right! I got an alert last night from that mod Jenny. It said: "Your post in the thread ↺ Log was deleted. Reason: Deleted per OP's request for not being on topic. He has also removed his own inappropriate comment back to you. 8:59 PM" [NB: the link won't work now as the thread was later deleted]. How did I know it was Jenny? Good question!

I only knew it was her because she was one of two moderators online so I asked her: "Did you delete my comment?" She replied, "Yes, the OP requested that it be taken down. He also has removed his own unhelpful comment he made towards you." Yeah that member Son of a Bitch who first joined as Motherfucker. o_O Hmm, I wonder why he called himself that?
Btw, my post was a little joke. Son of a Bitch said he would reward his effort with the NoFap challenge with a new gun! o_O I said "Don't tell me - you must be American, haha." Evidently, he took offense at my gentle joke! So, in comes Jenny and summarily deletes my little joke. Is she unfair? yes! Did she seek to hide behind an anonymous alert? yes! This bullshit is typical of the machinations of the moderators and it is fucking unfair. It pisses me off I can tell you!

Are you suggesting that forum moderators actually enjoy abusing their powers potentially compensating for lack of control irl? No wayyyyy.
