What I do with my time is none of your business. I don't tell you how to spend your time on the forum, so don't tell me how to spend my time on the forum. Other people spend lots of time discussing senseless issues also and I don't see you telling them about it so I don't get why you're so obsessed with what I do. And the term "senseless" is subjective anyway... discussing evolution might be senseless to you but it's not senseless to me. And as I said before, I like discussing things with others and getting other people's perspective sometimes, that's why I create threads... I don't get why you're singling me out though. Did I do something to you in the past? I don't get it. Other people on this forum engage in the same behavior and I don't see you complaining to them. I see other people posting about topics that I disapprove and think are senseless, all the time but I don't complain to them about it.

Free will is an oxymoron. If my will is for X then I am not free to choose A, B, C, D etc. Will is the opposite of freedom. Only indecisive people are 'free.'

The whole point of creating a thread is to get an educated discussion going and I do sometimes do research beforehand and yes I have bickered with people in the past and started fights before and I regret doing that but now nowadays, it seems people want to start fights with me.

Yeah this reminds me of compatibilism which posits that one can do what they want but they can't want what they want. You may be onto something here.

Furthermore, if you don't like that people discuss "senseless" topics (which are really just topics that you think are unimportant) then talk to the site owner and have him get rid of the offtopic and sandbox sections since the reason he created these sections is for the purpose of people discussing mundane topics.

I don't necessarily expect a response back but the free will I'm talking about is free will in the libertarian sense of the term where entities can make choices without being bound, constrained or influenced by external and even internal forces... that sort of free will doesn't seem to be present in animals since their actions seem to determined or occuring based on chance as a result of both external and internal forces.

Why would I do that. I am perfectly fine with people posting such stuff. I am not a totalitarian guy. But I will still say you are obsessed with free will coz over the entire duration of my long stay here, I have seen you make countless threads on it. No need to get upset about it. Keep posting what you like posting, but you have lost something when your entire purpose of visiting a porn recovery forum is to post threads about free will and other such topics.

Because I thought that you would have evolved by now, and learned something. That's why I responded once in 2019 to your thread, because I don't like to see a person spinning their wheels and going nowhere. And if you consider me responding to you like 7-8 times ever on this forums as obsession with you, then you need to wake the heck up! World doesn't revolve around you. :)
When people point your BS, they are "not singling you" but "pointing what is wrong or something like that". So, stop making it personal, it isn't. The world doesn't revolve around you. :)

As I see, you have no intentions of hearing criticism, nor any capacity to tolerate it, I would do myself a favor and not respond to you ever again. Keep wallowing in your own world and travelling in circles and all that hogswash etc. Doesn't matter one bit to me.

Good luck and have fun getting intellectual discussions going on here.

    :)
    Peace

You have one perfect argument to not believe this theory.

The words "backing it up" are quiet interesting in this context of evolution.

Let's try to see it a bit different:
Imagine that there is truth in "the common publiced facts about evolution" (I'm not gonna repeat them here).
If there is truth, then give answer to one question:
Why do I only see complete organisms able to live in their circumstances quite perfectly.
    I mean:
If it's true that we "constantly evolve towards an "unknown future complete accidentally next organism (eventually depending on the circumstances we live in now)""
then why don't I see a world of ugly, deformed, inconsistent and incoherent organisms?

Instead, I see complete, beautiful, functional, communicating, loving and caring organisms, perfectly able to survive in their circumstances, perfectly able to communicate, to love, to multiply.

The flora and fauna even can be classified. That would be perfectly impossible if all live came from evolution.

Have a look at "laws of nature". It's just impossible that it all comes out of nothing. Laws have to be put in a system. They cant be "just there".

My statement: a huge faith is necessary to believe the evolution theory.
But only a small faith is enough to see it all comes from the heart of a beautiful creator.

I don't get why my obsession with free will and other topics is something that you care about and I don't only post about free will. I care about these type of topics because I care about finding out the truth and again, other users post many threads in the offtopic section that deal with mundane topics but I don't see you complaining to them about it.

It has never entered your head that maybe I cared about you, and not others.

But never mind that now, I have nothing to offer to you anymore. :) So, let us kindly part ways with a smile and a farewell.

I'm a random stranger on the internet, who you don't know personally... why does my personal growth or lack thereof as a person matter to you? The point of being on the forum is focus on yourself first and foremost and not others. And I don't consider you responding me 7-8 times (even though it's been more than that in total) to be an obsession... I'm just totally perplexed as to why you give a crap about what I do or what I post. It doesn't affect your life negatively, so I don't understand what all the criticism is about. And yes, I have been wrong with some of the things I've done in the past like creating threads where I fought with people and I regret that among other things but that's only because I got riled up about the topic or what they said but I try not to do that nowadays. But anyways as I've pointed out before, I'm not the only one who creates threads about mundane topics in the offtopic section... I can name 2 or 3 people off the top of my head who do this consistently yet I don't see you talking to them about it or their possible lack of personal growth, so I just find this whole thing to be perplexing that you only focus on me.

I don't understand why you would care since I'm a random stranger on the internet who you don't know but if you want to part ways then OK.

First of all, evolution has nothing to do with the origin of life... evolution makes no claims about how life originated but rather how life developed so it doesn't rule the existence of a Creator, one can accept evolution as being true and still believe that a creator used evolution. Also, I don't believe that "everything came from nothing".
With respect to your claim about not seeing "ugly, deformed etc" organisms but seeing beautiful, functional organisms " ... well, ugly and beautiful are subjective terms, so what might be ugly or beautiful to you might not be ugly or beautiful to someone else. Also, all life on earth is in a constant state of evolution so all organisms are incomplete life forms. As far as I can tell, with evolution, life will never reach a final state but will keep on changing and will always be incomplete. All life is incomplete but not deformed or dysfunctional since it has adapted to its current environment and has what it needs at the moment, to survive.

Okay, according to your response, I may be completely misunderstood your question, or meaning of this topic.
Can you please be some more clear about the meaning and goal of your topic? What exactly is your question or your problem?

My question is why do humans have free will if we evolved... why aren't we like other animals that seem to act on instinct and impulse and whose actions are largely determined by their environment? I know you'll probably say God created us in our current form without using evolution and gave us free will but at the end of the day, that's an unfalsifiable proposition and it can't be verified, as far as I can tell.

Uh... what? Abiogenesis deals with how life originated, evolution deals with how life developed.
