Hello, I would like to ask if someone else here has started masturbating really early, like at 2 or 3 years old? I searched the threads here and found nothing. I did, I don't know when or how, I don't think I was abused, at least I never found any hint about this. Most psychologists and pediatricians nowadays say it is normal, for example this article:
    https://www.todaysparent.com/baby/baby-health/do-babies-masturbate/
My parents (who were very liberal/progressive, but not perverts) thought the same: instead of trying to make me stop, not of course with punishments but diverting my attention to other things, all they said to me was not to do it in front of other people. And I grew up to a life of masturbation addiction, 40 years doing this and I cannot stop. I don't hate them nor hold any grudge (both passed away), but I do think they didn't do the correct thing.

I think I was around 4 when I first did it. Somehow I donno why girls in bikini and good looking pair of breasts made me excited (only in my imagination, I didn't come into sexual images until later). I would rub it with my hands on the bed....the frequency was very low but accelerated in highschool when I found out about masturbating. I think it's very normal to some extent. I think I heard my classmate doing it one way or the other in elementary but people are too embarrassed to admit it imho.

My parents did make me stop. I usually did it before when my parents were busy doing something else.

I also witnessed a 5 year old kid doing it when I was at another person house in my experience.

I, too, masturbated at the earliest of my memories. It may have been simple exploratory stuff.....but regular masturbation nonetheless.

And I think doing so before puberty had some very deleterious effects.

I remember starting to M when I was around 4-5. And I was exposed to porn when I was 8. I never really thought it had much impact on my sexual development until recently when some particularly damaging fetishes have come to the forefront of my imagination.

I don't know if it counts, but i began to masturbate at my 7's. It felt weird to orgasm without ejaculation. Just like the feeling, you get after ruined one, when you try to immediately continue. Btw, the happiest and most wonderful times of my life were before that time stip. Coincidence? Who knows..

Fascinating that you describe those orgasms as "ruined" ones Pigwaran. I would use exactly that term as well. In fact, my first ejaculation was not expected nor known about in any practical way. When the threshold of no return was crossed, things felt "funny" so I stopped. Only to be followed the what seemed to me at the time painful spasms. This is just like the "ruined" orgasm of today.

One could certainly say my first ejaculation was a "ruined orgasm". I wonder if that is why the practice has a somewhat popular following today?

I humped pillows from as early as I was 5 or 6 until I was 12 when a friend introduced me to porn and I started masturbating in a normal way. My parents were always more conservative so sex was never talked about and my mom forbid to watch kissing until puberty years. Maybe that taboo is what sucked me in.

Some of my earliest memories are M too. 5 or 6 years old, maybe even younger. Used to masturbate prone basically whenever I could.

Reading that back, I think I did exactly the same at first. I'm going full conspiracy theorist here, but it's weird how we naturally think it's unnatural to orgasm from masturbation until we stumble across O by accident or learn from a friend. Maybe MO isn't as innocent a phenomena as we're lead to believe? Again, conspiracy theory, but I think it's interesting.

I began masturbating when I was four. In the early days I always fapped to my fetish. I was attracted to my fetish before I was attracted to women.

My dad told me vaguely to "stop" without any explanation or reason why, so I just learned to do it in secret. Things just kept escalating from there until I was full-fledged porn addict.

A while ago when I explained my early masturbatory habits to my therapist, he asked if I had been abused as a child and it freaked me out. Is it possible that something happened to me when I was really young and I either don't remember it or it was blocked from my memory? It's weird to think about.

Excuse me guys, but I find all this perplexing. Did you really get erections as young as you claim? I never got a single one until I started puberty at 13. On that first occasion, I snuck into the toilet, masturbated and ejaculated a huge load!

You know, that's an interesting point. Maybe not a planned conspiracy, but an accidental conspiracy. People stumble upon ejaculation and others feel they have to pressure or coach the young into doing so.

Suppose, for example, adolescents one way or another were told that orgasms came via prostate stimulation? And never learned of ejaculation? Or only ejaculated when trying to conceive a child, because it actually was painful the first time I ejaculated.

No ejaculation obviously, but you get a stiffy.... Basically an orgasm without anything coming out.

Well, I didn't ejaculate as a 5 year old, but I did get hard and I did do it because it felt good. Another person here posted about fapping to a fetish before fapping to women, I completely understand that, it was the same for me. My first "sexual awakening" was when I was very young watching a cartoon where a female character was captured and tied up - I remember I used to fap from that point on to the idea of being tied up and helpless. I also used to google things like "women tied up with rope" on a laptop when I was 7-9 and fap to that, but again it wasn't really the women that I would fap too, it was the fetish of being tied up as a woman. Very strange.

I am the opposite. I also watched a woman being tie up at a young age by accident. I liked the idea of tieing the women up because I can feel her up then (her breasts). Of course I will never do that in real life.
I don't know if this is a difference in culture. Eastern culture likes to dominate the women instead of the reverse. Just look at the type of JAV usually is.

Nah I'd say your case is more normal. Due to traumatic events when I was a kid (not sexual, but still traumatic) I think I started to sexualise powerlessness as a coping mechanism and as a result I would fantasise about being tied up more than being the captor/dominant, although as I got older I did start to have those fantasises, they were still not as frequent as my submissive fantasises.

I have two kids, and I witnessed their erections since they were newborn, when changing their diapers. At very young age it's not something sexual, of course, but merely physiological. Men have erections since they are born.

Interesting, because I blame my parents for the opposite, for being too liberal and open about sex and letting me masturbate without guilty...
Regarding early abuse, lately I have been thinking the same as your therapist, perhaps I was abused and repressed the memories. Both my parents have passed away quite a long time ago so I don't have anyone to ask now (I really don't think my parents would do this to me they were liberals but not perverts).

Yeah, it's interesting. I guess you can think of the liberal (fap away!) and the more conservative (we don't talk about that) approach to fapping as being opposite extremes to avoid. One benefit of NoFap is that it has given me a much more well-formed idea of why pornography is bad. It has given me much better language to explain to my kids some day why they should stay away from porn beyond just "it's bad". That won't stop a horny teenager from seeking it out. I should know.

As for the abuse thing... there actually was someone in my family circle when I was young who was later accused of things. Not with me, but it still kind of freaks me out.
