I've had an intertwined relationship with porn for most of my adult life. I'd say it has ranged anywhere from typical to heavy at times(2+ hours a day for multiple days at a time at the worst of times). In the second half of this year, I was subjected to some particularly strong stresses from work, and felt like I just mentally buckled. My focus and sleep went out the window. In particular, I noticed that I was having a pretty hard time staying away from porn.

Now, as the new year approaches and projects are winding down, I've decided at the very least I need to give my brain a solid reboot to get off porn. As of right now, I still want to do porn. Goodness gracious, it seems to crop up in my thoughts throughout the day, and double and triply so when I'm at the computer or using my phone. However, more than porn, I want to be someone who takes my work seriously and is able to handle this kind of pressure when it comes up again. Because it will, and the only way I'll be able to advance my career and skills is if I take the kind of person I am seriously. So for now, that means making as solid of an effort as I can to get off porn so that I can try and bring myself up to be as high as functioning of a man as I can be within the next half a year. That way, when crunch time hits again, I'll be significantly better equipped to manage my thoughts against the current of stress from my job.

Glad you are here. And very welcome to join us in our journey to a healthy, fulfilling life without any self harming habits.

It's a safe place here. We all are in the same boat, so there is no single space for judgement here.
Maybe it's a good idea to keep a journal. Sharing your struggles, thoughts and feelings may help you to understand the underlying issues.

Keep coming back and get the most effort out of nofap!
You don't need to do it alone!

I wish you lots of luck!
