Starting over again after four months

From June 21st until October 30th of 2017 I refrained from masturbating completely.
Then on 30 October I went back to doing it, and doing it prone, which is why I came to NoFap, to break the Prone Masturbation habit. My problem was Prone Masturbation and not porn.

Although I saw some improvements I was disapointed overall and that's what made me get discouraged and give up.

Looking back now I realized it was foolish to give up, but it also made me think that perhaps I did some things the wrong way during those four months.

Although I did not masturbate at all during those four months I did fantasize a lot with thoughts about women and also by looking at pictures of women I know on Facebook. The women were fully clothed, but the clothes were sexually provocative (tight jeans, mini-skirts, etc). None were naked photos or what would be considered porn.

Maybe I should have done more than just totally refrain from masturbation?

Perhaps I also should have simultaneously abstained from all thoughts and photos of women and fantasies about them during that time also??

My goal was to have sensitivity return to the penis that was lost due to prone masturbation and to improve erections.

I did see some improvement in both areas, but not as much as I had expected to see, and that caused my discouragement. Perhaps my expectations were too high and I simply needed more time?

Well, I am back to square one and today is day one without masturbation. I am ready to make another attempt.

Based on what I've said above, are there any suggestions for this second attempt I'm about to make in order to make it more fruitful?
