Hi there, I've been abstaining from PM for 9 months now, but I still get strong cravings to do it. Just a little bit of background (if it helps), in the past I did PM a few times a week for 2 years until June 2018 which is when I went cold turkey until now (and I am still going cold turkey). So anyway, I have now (9 months into abstaining) been getting strong cravings almost every day for the past 2 weeks. I think the cravings come from when I think about watching P. The truth is, I think I miss watching P, so pretty much every day now (since the past 2 weeks), it's popped into my mind and stimulated a craving. These cravings distract me from my work and are really hard to get over, so I really want them to stop. I have gone cold turkey, but the fact I haven't recovered yet is making me question whether that is the right method. I am 9 months into abstaining from PM, but 3 months in I had similar intense cravings and I asked the NoFap community: should continue going cold turkey or should I slowly withdraw? The answer I got was continue going cold turkey, which I have been doing up to now (and am still doing). My main concern is that these thoughts are making me distracted and taking up too much time (I'm a uni student so focusing on my work is important to me). So, I don't want to have these thoughts near exam time (only 3 months away), where time is even more important. What do I do?

Giving in will not stop these distracting thoughts.

Practice mindfulness, I would recommend the headspace app but there are others.

Distracting thoughts will happen, just keep returning to the present moment. Returning is the practice.

Thanks, I have heard of mindfulness, I will give it a try.
