  1. Have any of you ever been addicted to video games?
If you managed to get rid 100% do you have any tips

First off, I'd check out gamequitters.com because that's what helped me initially stop playing games. They seem to push for complete cold turkey on video games forever but I don't really subscribe to the belief that its necessary to drop them forever, however they also mention the 90 day detox that is based on the same science gary wilson researched on porn. I don't think 90 days is a magic number but that's besides the point I guess. I play video games in a much healthier way now, but there was a point in my life when I dropped them completely for maybe 3 months.

The main thing was setting intentions on what exactly am I gonna do now that I'm not playing video games anymore, actually uninstalling games on my pc and putting my controller away, and then establishing a mentally engaging activity, a resting activity and a social activity. Mine were programming, reading or watching youtube videos, and using a mental health chat site(probably not the best way to socialize but its what was best for me at the time). The reason they advise this is because gaming either satisfies or helps us avoid these kinds of activities, it doesn't have to be this exact structure but the idea is to find healthier substitutes for what gaming does for you. I'd also check out healthygamergg on youtube and specifically their video game addiction lectures. Its also an amazing mental health channel in general.

Edit: I realize for some people most of their games are physical discs and such. Idk if that's you but in that case uninstalling probably isn't really an option so I would suggest just putting them away in a closet underneath/behind everything to decrease temptation or even asking someone you trust to just hold onto your gaming stuff until you feel you're ready to use it again.

Get rid of them, sell your console or delete the app if it's a smart phone game, I did just that and manged to kill my addiction fast and smooth, yes it left an impact for a while, though on positive side, I hardly play video games now as 19 year old
