Hi guys, as I start my new streak I got to thinking about how many of my relapses have been heavily facilitated by my tablet. I turn it on just to quickly check my facebook messages and next thing I know I'm back down the rabbit hole so to speak. It seems almost like on some level my brain heavily links the tablet to masturbation, because I never get the urges when using my laptop/desktop (which I arguably use more for work purposes). I suppose in future I need to only use the tablet when absolutely neccesary, and then limit the time spent on it when I do. Is anyone else on here hit by strong urges just by using a certain device but not others?

Yes I think I feel more of temptation on a laptop or PC. I guess because that's where I did most of my damage. Weekend after weekend on my laptop. /:

Yeah my phone is my mortal enemy. Hard to put down tbh... Considering even bricking my phone and making it painfully slow so I don't even bother.

I allowed my tablet to run out of battery and then just put it in a drawer under some books so I never see it. That was the only way I could resist the temptation.

Yeah, I think using a tablet and phone makes it easier to access and get caught in the rabbit hole. For me, I previously used my tablet or phone because they were so much quicker than my laptop (different story with my new laptop). I think social media apps are one of my triggers because of the constant scrolling and novelty especially with Tumblr. I've deleted social media apps off of my phone before to help me get out of that habit.

My husband got a flip phone to avoid this trigger. Texting takes 10x as long-which keeps his hands busy lol

I've deleted/disabled internet browser apps from my phone, as well as Facebook. I also asked my brother to put a restriction on the phone so I can't reinstall these types of apps myself. It makes it a lot easier when the phone is just meant for communication.

There is a app in the Play Store called Checky.
It tells you how much you open your phone to Check It.
    It's interesting.

My phone is much to accessible, I tried to set up passwords and delete browsing apps but the urge overcame my solutions. I try to just use my phone less when I am alone. Going outside or to a place where you cannot masturbate sometimes helps, although I have had moments of irritation around other people simply because I cannot do what I wish to do in that moment, PMO is dangerous.

  10. Tabs are just to easy to turn on and surf. A laptop means waiting for it to boot. Tabs are instant colour addiction and escapism satisfaction. Yet here I am writing this on my tab. Addictions running deceptively deep.
