Supplement to Help Prevent Urges and Wet Dreams

Discussion in 'Nutrition and Supplements' started by Deleted Account, Jan 31, 2023.

  1. Before I type anything about this supplement, I first would like to give credit to @Mike1991 as he is the person that I first heard from about this supplement.

This was his comment on my thread about multivitamins and zinc:
"I take fish oil and multi vitamins, however .. I came across something called NAC that is suppose to help remove antioxidants, promote brain health, and also can help with people who have addictions.

I came across this today too, but I have been taking it since November.

Name of Supplement: N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC)

    My personal use of NAC:

I've been using this supplement for almost 2 weeks now. I can confidently say that it's working for me! However, I advise not to get too dependent on it as it defeats the purpose of strengthening willpower and/or discipline in my opinion (I personally think that we should strive to handle urges naturally but at the same, I don't see anything wrong with using this supplement occasionally to combat urges and even prevent wet dreams.)

First few days; I was taking about 1,000 mg - 1,500 mg of NAC per day (or 2 - 3 capsules from the brand that I bought - "Double Wood Supplements" via Amazon). I noticed a change in my libido. The more capsules I take, the more my libido seems to decrease. The link provided by Mike1991 goes in depth of some anecdotal experiences behind the effects on libido while taking NAC. All I know is that, for me, it feels like my libido decreases when I take this supplement, especially when I take more than one. I know what you're thinking; Isn't that a bad thing? Yes.. sort of. Use your own judgement as to how much dosage of NAC you should take in order to help counter urges. The link provided also points out dosage and side effects; Please read:

I choose not to take it every day. After 2 days of not taking NAC, my libido seems to get back to the high levels it is normally. The days that I don't take it, I feel like my urges are a lot stronger. At times, I think urges feel so strong for me that they have resulted into wet dreams 2 times per month in the past but as I'm typing this, I'm 28 days sober from PMO and still no wet dreams. I do believe the NAC usage may have something to do with it!

Earlier, I mentioned my personal dosage of NAC in the first few days. At the moment, my happy medium is 1 - 2 capsules a day for 3 - 4 days out of the week. Then, I can limit myself to just 1 capsule per day 3 days out of the week.. and eventually, I'd choose to not take NAC at all for some time or even permanently. For now, maybe it seems to be helping with prevention of wet dreams. So, I'll keep taking it for the time being.

In summary, I do think this supplement can help on people's recovery from addiction as it seems to be working/helping for me. This supplement is also beneficial for respiratory conditions and even brain health.

  2. Interesting I didn't know the existence of this molecule.
I'll try it for sure, especially when the urges will be strong.
    Thank you brothers.

I have read about NAC that benefits to some people extraordinary regarding their brain functioning. People with Autism spectrum and ADHD are amazed how it benefits them.

I think Citicholine/Alpha GPC, L Thyrosine, Ashwaganda, Bacopa Monneri, L-theanine with caffeine, Zinc/Calcium/Magnesium Bitrates, Exercise, Math Problem solving, and other habits will help you rewire your brain and for nightfall I suggest Selenium works well along besides reducing usage of spices in food

Thanks brother for the info. I knew that NAC is good for brain health and that it helps to produce L-methionine - which is the essential amino acid that most beans tend to miss. I do not take it as a tablet or capsule, instead I take 3 cloves of raw Garlic - which is a natural source of NAC. I started taking it just for brain health as I have read somewhere about its brain enhancing properties. However, the urge-stopping & wet dreams-stopping benefits you had quoted and stated is new to me and I am happy that I am already somehow into it. Thanks & wish quick & easy healing

  6. Good to hear that it helped you in your streak. Have heard from others aswell.
For me personally it didn't help directly. I don't notice a change in urges or libido. To be fair I'm using ashwagandha so perhaps that levels it out.
What I did notice however is that it has helped my skin alot. My skin looks good, it reminds of the days when I was on a long streak and often my skin was shining.
