For me, I be honest, the big trigger is internet, smartphone, technology in general.
I f I stay away from this, It will be easy.
What is your strategy with technology?
Let's be honest: for more of us, technology is the biggest trigger.

  2. That's great if you can just stay away from it, you can control it though. I use blockers on my computer and smartphone to trigger at certain times in the day. I also avoid using my phone in my room. Yes, you'll encounter random triggers on websites all the time, like sexualized ads and whatnot. But rather than just avoid technology, it's better if we learn to accept what's there, be mindful of it and learn to say no to the urges that we experience.

I've been looking at this a long time, like Gary Wilson mentions in Your Brain On Porn a lot as to do with high speed internet - people aren't PMO'ing to text for the most part probably or something like print media they got from the convenience store down the street.

I'm going to try one simple rule for a while: Not sitting in front of the home computer for more than 20 minutes. I could potentially do this at work too but of course I'm not going to PMO with people around.

Beyond that I think it's good to plan your time so you don't have that much time to continually stay on, especially if you know you tend to have a kind of all-you-can-eat habit of surfing. So for me what this may look like is having scheduled things before going to work, whether it's an AP call or breakfast, so that by the time I have things done I only have so much time and can't be late for work.

I want to say one thing though: I DON'T think it's just about sexual content. This would be a very short sighted view of it. Again if the internet is a buffet, it's like only some things available are bad for you, but the habit of having whatever you want as much as you want isn't good in itself. The Coolidge effect probably comes into play in some form or basically just the novelty seeking even when it isn't sexual in nature, you're just bored. But if the mind just wanders like that all the time sooner or later it'll drift into P or P-sub.

So aside from strategy one basic practice that can be really helpful consistently is check your intention. I do that even on here, and I fall back on this forum and "surf" here with less limits but I know that's a stepping stone and don't want to do that forever. But for example aside from just reading what's interesting I automatically check myself with threads written by a female user. The actual content of the subject title often has nothing that interests me, being honest with myself that interest is coming out of the fact that they are female and nothing more - and I don't click on that. An extension of this would be if I started to check myself consistently this way against just clicking on stuff (on ANY site) just because I'm bored and want to be entertained, which isn't the same as if something is genuinely interesting and has potentially solid information. It doesn't mean I never have entertainment, but that's set aside for a quality show maybe, where I know how long that episode is.

Yes, I agree that any device with Internet Access is a BIG trigger, in fact that is what has caused all this..
But we need to learn to cope with Ill effects of technology and Move on...
We shud be like: Some post comes up on Social Media, we go: aaah... she’s hot..but i ain't M, I’m not Meant to!
Basically: Learning to control urges on seeing such pics/videos..
Initially, if u can’t, avoid any sources that trigger u, become strong and then gradually start facing them
