Some of you may have seen this list before, and some may say/think that it is a little simplistic. Well, it is. But sometimes our goals need to be simple. It can often feel like we cannot strive for excellence and self-respect because we do not have the skills, the talent, the know-how that others have. That is why this list is useful. Because all of us can do the majority of the things on this list without any prior talent - today, right now, this minute.

    1. BEING ON TIME
    2. WORK ETHIC
    3. EFFORT
    4. BODY LANGUAGE
    5. ENERGY
    6. ATTITUDE
    7. PASSION
    8. BEING COACHABLE
    9. DOING EXTRA
    10. BEING PREPARED

While these items don't require any talent, many people need training in them or doesn't come naturally.

    If I apply this list to myself, I naturally don't have: 1, 2, 4, 9 and 10.

This is a great list, but every person will lack in two or more of these unless they've had a decent amount of practice.

I had this conversation on LinkedIn. I'm afraid that meme just stands out as a fantastic example of J type bias.

Other virtues that require zero talent:

    1. Being confident that everything will turn out for the best.
    2. Trusting people to do the right thing on their own.
    3. Waiting to make a decision until it's time to make it.
    4. Resting even when there is more work to do.
    5. Letting others take credit.
    6. Being patient until we're gathered to begin.

When you mention 'J' type bias, are you talking about Myers Briggs? I myself am a very strong 'P' (perception). I appreciate the alternative take:)

The Myers Briggs Type Indicator cannot be taken free online anywhere. It must be administered and interpreted by someone qualified. Any online test that isn't associated with the Consulting Psychologists Press isn't the MBTI, and therefore is not a reliable or valid instrument.

I'm an INTP. I've been teaching and administering the MBTI for almost 20 years. I'll be glad to tell you about it.
