does someone else have that ? that you prefer reading porn text stories over porn videos ?

actually it's surprisingly similar to books vs movies in regular media: reading is much better than seeing movie, because you can imagine anything. anyone here who has been reading a lot knows it.

the same goes for porn - the porn stories can be complex, very long, and written by people that have excellent skills. I actually feel kind of sad they write porn stories instead of real books...

porn videos disgust me, i can't watch it - i tried many times, but most of the time i try to watch a porn movie, my erection disappear. yeah you heard that right, porn videos makes my less erect.

it's so sad. i barely read real books this days, like my energy is focused on reading porn stories instead..

  2. Yeah in a way it can be worse, in my experience I'd say it's that it can have a deeper psychological effect rather than just the visual stimuli being more of a sensory thing. Videos are mostly shallow but I think we can probably see the connection when you consider how after a while so much of it is so obviously fake, and so you start seeking out what's more realistic whether it's amateur or whatever. So what happens over time is you're looking for more and more realistic stuff to condition your mind with, and for me I think it largely contributes to the self-produced porn, or fantasies even if the narrative is much simpler. For me it's not even so much that the fantasies are a compelling story, but I feel there's a kind of neurological imprint where the believability itself, whatever that consists of becomes imprinted and it's pretty obvious when that comes up vs. just a fleeting thought. I'd imagine it goes deeper if you read longer stuff, for me it was actually pretty short because of not being patient enough and wanting to O.

  3. Oh the exception to that would be collaborative porn writing in sexting chats, basically interactive edging.

It is actually more common than you think, but specially in women. If you are in this forum, I guess you want to quit porn and I think you have it easier because you have to search that kind of porn instead of visual/porn videos that we can see in a surprise like in instagram or twitter

well, i guess you are half right - reading might change the person, but more subtly then videos.

  8. Another thread today was talking about whether people have a vivid visual memory, there's a lot more factors no doubt but in any case a persons inclinations no doubt plays a part.

I wouldn't think of it in terms of media consumption changes a person, but they are "food for thought" so to speak and as building blocks, the higher the level of complexity and nuance the more you can use it to convince yourself - whether that's visual or how the author has weaved together a story. As popular as sex chats are, being a live interaction I'm sure to a more literate person that reads a lot it can be rather stupid, though maybe that also depends on whether someone tends to be more interested in being a spectator anyway. The interactive aspect of chat would do nothing for the spectator who is interested in a better story, to look at only two factors.
