If you often relapse due to a video/image flashback in your head, read this.

Often times I would go off on long streaks only to relapse due to a flashback to a specific scene. After my last relapse, I decided to study this phenomenon in depth and found out that although their frequency goes down as you elongate your streak, it only needs once chance to absolutely ruin everything. These I believe are the toughest tests of willpower because your mind has the clearest vision as to what it wants. They tend to linger even after you have resisted them a few times.

To combat this and build the willpower, I have come up with a strategy. This thing tends to strike when one is passive and up in their routine. When they get bored, this thing takes root. Therefore, one needs to be active in dealing with this. Look for it in your mind and when it is about to play, immediately take a cold shower or meditate. Keep this up and you will form the habit of such while building your iron will.

Using this method, I have managed to dupe my brain into rejecting every urge. I have not gotten that one video to play yet in my brain, which is even better. Every time I think of a certain video, my brain says "No. That ain't it. There must be a better one. I'll search later when it really compels." My mind is effectively procrastinating from watching porn.

I will warn you guys however that you need to form a solid one-two punch with worthwhile stuff to do in your schedule. If you are bored and wasting time, this becomes much more harder to do. If you are a victim of procrasturbation, identify what is the fear causing you to avoid your task. Attack it as hard as possible, without thinking too much about it. You may get it done even faster than you thought.

Let me know if there are any improvements you would make to this approach.
