The 2021 Green Day Challenge [OPEN]

  1. Let's remember to lighten up.
This NoFap pursuit can feel so darn serious at times that we become rigid and clunky. That's when we break.
Therefore, I've been reminded how important humor is.
    I'm finding it quite powerful

Here's a relevant picture. It still makes me laugh while reminding me of the purpose of this lifestyle.

Stacking a few days together...feels good. Also about to log a week in the books.

Just enjoyed an afternoon coffee with the Mrs too :D

Been very busy with family stuff this week. Nowhere near any temptation or access to PMO even if I wanted to. Noticing more capability to be a strong father and family leader. Settling emotions and guiding others to solve problems. Keeping little things from blowing up into major upset. It's almost as if I am watching some other man conduct himself in such an honorable, loving, and productive way. Who is that man? I see now - that is me when I am not poisoned by my addiction.

    February review:

    9 red
    1 amber
    18 green = 64%

Compare: 55% in January. I am getting better! And a decent 11 day streak to take me into March :)

A couple more days on the straight and narrow of no PMO.

    Stay strong everyone.

  7. February: 25 Green days. 3 red.
It's actually a step down from January, but I won't complain. I'm happy.

Today marks 156 clean days out of the last 162. 14 days straight clean.

On to March fellas. Good job everyone and let's keep going!

For me personally, I'm looking forward to getting this first day, and then first week clean.
In February, I relapsed the night of the 1st /early morning of the 2nd. So I know to stay focused through the first day is important.
    Clean March is the goal.

    Here we go

Hell yeah. I made it 2 FEB also before starting the roller coaster. Coming in hot with a 10 day run closing out February strong.

Anyone in USA remember about a year ago, COVID was becoming a thing and we had our 2 weeks to flatten the curve?

Well let's just say a NOFAP March to flatted the Urge :D:D We CAN DO IT :emoji_unlock: unlock your potential

The usual Monday/Tuesday challenge for me. Barely kept out of trouble last night. Trying to stay focused on work projects today. Read some journals here, which generated this thought:

I am now in a sexless marriage. Rather than try to change that situation with the wife, I accepted it as part of my nofap journey. In fact, I am using it as a platform to evolve myself as a person individually and as a husband in relationship. What do I mean by that? For my entire life my almost hourly existence was concerned with what was happening "below the belt". The amount of time I've spent (by myself) attending to that part of my body is just absurd. Add in the time (pre-planning, actual event, post-game analysis), emotional energy, etc etc spent in sexual activity with a partner (albeit always in the context of several marriages and other LTR's) and it is a wonder I held a full-time steady job!

My point is that for the first time in my life I am trying not to think of or otherwise be involved with the state of what's in my pants. So I am working hard to improve the non-sex relationship connections with my wife (and re-build the marriage) and in the context of nofap taking all the excess time and energy available to self-improvement or engaging in non-sexual thoughts and activities. For a lifelong sex addict, this hasn't been easy.

Mr. K, (I presume) this is exactly something I could have typed myself. Thank you. In this moment of unique dynamics I am going through with my Lady, everything "above the waist" is all that matters and all I have. Will it be days, weeks, months until she comes back to me? Nobody knows, but I have some maintenance to do on my ship if I am to get out of these stormy waters.

Jesus, I guess I jinxed myself. Last night I wanted badly to cuddle on and get close to my wife. Probably would've ended badly with rejection or a fight, so instead I let an MO happen. No porn, no fantasy, just giving myself a sexual release. I guess it's an amber day, but it's not a red day!

  12. Yes, better than a red day. That is a big up side!

  13. First day of March successful.

I find myself occasionally searching words that aren't porn themselves, but I know are headed in that direction.
Today it was searching for a gif a friend had shared in a group text. Fortunately, I headed out of there.

In fact, I just had to pull myself back mid post.
    Glad I did.
    Staying strong.

    57 days green.
157 clean days out of 163.

I've been away for a while but i'm ready for a full-green march now. Winning the fisrt days is really important, a full green month changes your life.

Weird, it's the beginnings of the month that I struggle with too. It's almost like the idea of a whole clean month is too much pressure for me.
Still, my personal aim is to improve month on month, and there is still plenty of room to do that in March (despite 3 red days...). And let's try and beat that 12 day streak as well, starting right now perhaps!

Perhaps. There's a lot of mental chess going on in this. Hit a week, urge to relapse as if it was the worst experience ever. Beat a streak.....boom gotta unload and celebrate. Set yourself up to have sex, then get rejected....watch out!

First of the month anxiety might just be a real thing.

Maintaining composure, my friends. Over 40 days now with a pivotal #45 right around the corner. I didn't plan on having 20 "Dirty" days stack up on me so fast, but I think I can hold on and get back to 70% clean very soon and them 80% around day 100 of this year... if I can man up.

  18. Completion of yesterday marks 58 green days.
159 clean days out of the last 165.

At this point, I'm in an amber day.
Porn (tried to stay away from the hardcore stuff. But it shows up regardless).
Some touching. Stopped myself when I found I was. No orgasm.

There's a part of the mind that says just to finish it off, feeling that hours were wasted.
    But I will not.
I know its far better just to move on now.

Edit: After a few minutes, I'm noticing a lesson and/or feeling.
In my experience, it can feel like I'm stuck when I get into p or m.

I felt very sluggish and uncomfortable while I was looking earlier.
The other options didn't seem enticing.
Going outside in the cold and wind, I just didn't want to do.

But after getting up and prepared, and just walking about inside a bit, I realized I'm not stuck.
And either way, I want to be free from PMO.

It's like, if you feel you're in a cage, don't minimize the cage further.

    Grateful to be this free.

Log it like an Amber day, treat it like a red day. I mean to move through your relapse emergency action plan. Journal, phone calls, podcasts, ebooks, youtube, meditation - WHATEVER you typically do to ground your thoughts and remove the opportunity to repeat the action today/ tomorrow, this week. Start your rebound strong, right?

Take those actions and stay clean, and your next opportunity to grow starts right now, and with it, a chance to heal.
