The biggest reason I’m quitting

I just got back onto the forum again, you can find my intro in that section. This is literally my second post.

I obviously have several reason for wanting to quit porn. But one of the biggest reasons is the fact that I cannot get hard anymore. I’m 22 now and several years ago I remember having morning wood, or I would randomly get hard during school or just wherever at random places, but of course, when I felt attracted to a girl, that would be automatic.

About 2 weeks ago I went the the club with a friend of mine, who yes I think is attractive. I love dancing but I was really upset about the fact I didn’t get hard. This was so common several years ago and now NOTHING. I even took a male enhancement shot or whatever to see if that would make a difference and nothing.

I wasn’t trying to sleep with this girl or anything but my point is I’m literally dead down there. If it’s not porn I’m watching, I’m not getting hard.

so my question now is, how long have you guys had to wait to see yourself getting better? Is there a way to accelerate this or perform exercises or diets to help this?

im genuinely curious about this because it’s a serious concern of mine and it just pisses me off that this happens and I let my PMO use get this bad. I want my confidence back and to be “normal” again

Hey Man, I’m in a similar place as you.
I’m 24 years old, been masturbating for probably longer than 10 years and watching/not watching porn. I’ve had girlfriends, sexual partners. And if I’m being honest with myself as of late it’s been awful and very embarrassing for me.

I’ve had erectile dysfunction problems since college. Watching porn and masturbating was normal for me whether it’s in the morning or after school/work I’ve done it for years. It relieves stress and it feels good in the moment.

The problem now is that I’ve conditioned myself to masterbate or watch porn. I can still get hard with either but it’s not really gratifying.

About 7 months ago me and this girl I dated for 3 years broke up. And since then my masterbating frequency increased to a couple times a day.Because well I was either bored or not having sex. It gets depressing. And emotionally damaging to myself.

I’ve been with a few girls since then and have had sex. But several times when I’ve tried to have sexualencounters with new women. I just go limp. I know I shouldn’t masterbate. And the women are attractive too and I’m attractive to them. But I can’t get hard, I can’t get it up, and I can’t penetrate as of late. But I know my conditioning and sensitivity has been fucked up years ago.

The biggest problem I have is to sustain a erection when I’m going to have sex with a girl. The most depressing this is the look on there faces “what the fuck is wrong with you look” lol.

Unfortunately this has happened several times with a lot of beautiful girls that leave pissed or confused. It happened in the beginning of the relationship with my ex gf where she actually cried because she thought I didn’t think she was pretty which wasn’t the case at all. It wasn’t them it was me.

My advice to you is to stop mastubating and watching porn now while your still young. It can seriously ruin your future relationships. As far how long, everyone’s different, I literally joined this today but I’ve known about it for a while. We all have the same goal. And mine is to make my dick work properly again because it’s embarrassing.

    GoodLuck!

My advice is in addition to absolutely quitting porn and masturbation also temporarily quit anything that produces dopamine: alcohol, smoke, caffeine, sugar, music any pre-workout that contains tyrosine.

Cut off your brain's supply. That way you can recover more quickly. I did it and was able to have sex after the weeks. It wasn`t good sex but it was better than limp dick.

Thabk you for sharing! Being in that situation is my biggest fear. My goal is obviously have an amazing relationship with someone, and I want to be able to perform well too. I’m sorry all that happened to you, but of course at the end of the day we do it to ourselves. But I’ve gotten to the point where the goal matters much more than temporarily feeling “good” everyday. Throughout this entire time I’ve never felt genuinely happy with myself. And I wanna change that

That intense! I’m not sure if I can cut out ALL of those, but I for sure can start with sugar. Maybe a little at a time could help?

My experience is that cutting out all of it makes each one reinforcing. I’ve now lost 11 pounds doing it. That makes the rest easier.

It sounds easier doing it bit by bit.

    It isn’t.

get yourself rebooted so that you get yourself back. Then, if you want to add anything but porn or masturbation back once your brain is fixed, do it.

    That’s my advice.

I guess one thing I’ve already made the effort to cut out is eating fast food so much. Pretty much every other day I would do this, now, sometimes I have no choice than to buy food somewhere but I never drink soda or get French fries, it’s always a healthy choice. Food is one of my biggest weaknesses. And I’ve barely been spending so much money on eating out now. It has been hard but I know it’s helping me bc I feel better. But cutting out sugar will probably be my next one

    Excellent!

It’s pretty rad that the two things go together: Reboot and a healthy new life.

But, remember, sugar pops your dopamine in the same way that porn does. So, it will speed your reboot and end your flatline sooner.

  9. Glad to see you're finally making the change to join us! Love your profile picture but I have one question. Is your username from the new Animal Crossing game coming this year? If so, that's hella cool.

Haha it’s actually not! I came up with that on the fly... my initials, and the year was the easiest thing that came to mind
