    Hello everyone.

I have been keeping at NoFap for a few months now. I keep getting 8 to 15 day streaks, but then I fall back into a relapse. It's disappointing each time, but I keep at it.

What I have found is that I go multiple days feeling no urges, and then around 8 days or more into my streak I get super urges that I can't control. I can attempt to distract myself with other tasks like running, journaling, cleaning, working out, playing guitar, and other tasks, but the super urges keep with me for a few days until I ultimately relapse.

I have also found that when I relapse, I get caught in a trap and end up relapsing again just a few hours later or the next day. I call it my double relapse trap.

I would appreciate any suggestions or support. Thanks!

Think to yourself, what’s worse one relapse or multiple? If you fall off the horse dust yourself off and get right back on the moment after... these urges are your brain attempting to get what it wants from you, realize you are in control!

best advice I can give you is : do not fall into the temptation ! you are stronger than you think ! If you have this super urge, than get a distraction as soon as possible... do not go in front a the computer , mobile or something, than it is easy to find porn.. but distract yourself with work, sports, other hobbies, visit a friend or something to get away from fapping ! I know that once I think about it and I look at it.. than it is already to late !!

Hi dark666! Well, I can relate a lot. You described the "super urges" really well. Those just DON'T GO AWAY for me. It's like the FAP REAPER is there just waiting. (srs)

I'm hoping that doing more time on the forums, addressing the addiction, will help.

Probably in the 8-15 day mark is when I usually wet dream. Sometimes it took 3-4 weeks tho. I once went 60 days without a wet dream (or PMO). So it depends.

But it could be the body desperately needing to expel the semen. They say its important to do some sort of energy meditation to re-circulate the life force energy up the spine to the brain so it doesn't get stuck down there and build up. I don't know if its true. But I don't know if I ever did that.

But without doing that the tension probably builds and our bodies just TAKE THE WHEEL and drive us to PMO. I always think its partly biological.

If I made it 2-3 weeks the wet dream would make the FAP REAPER go away. But sometimes wet dreams weakened my will power and I craved PMO more strongly, relapsing the next day, due to lowered inhibitions.

The thing about needing to do it second time is chaser effect. Depending how long my streak was I will usually fap 2-3 O's in a row. The first one is like 5 seconds. Then a few minutes. Then a substantial duration. By then I am pretty drained. But a few hours later, ready to go again.

  5. Not everyone will agree with this but: if your Super Urge is for physical release, then MO with no porn and no porn-fantasies maybe helpful. Only fantasize about real people or remember people you've been with. Do it as seldom as possible, and make sure to avoid Death Grip.

I can tell you that your current cycle of streaking, then binging, can make your addiction worse. (I do it too. :( I try to limit the number of pops per relapse. I used to be able to limit it to one, but lately it's 2 or 3. :( ) See the link:

Even more remarkable is that periods of abstinence (2-4 weeks) lead to neuroplastic changes that don’t occur in a user that doesn’t take such long breaks.

These alterations in the brain increase cravings to use in response to triggers. Furthermore, the stress system changes such that even minor stress can cause cause cravings to use.

Intermittent consumption (especially in the form of a binge) can also produce severe withdrawal symptoms, such as lethargy, depression and cravings.

In other words, when someone uses after an interim of abstinence, and binges, it can hit the user harder – perhaps because of the heightened intensity of the experience.

Based on this research, scientists have concluded that everyday consumption of say cocaine, alcohol, cigarettes, or junk food is not necessary to generate addiction-related brain changes.

Intermittent bingeing can do the same thing as continuous use, and in some cases do
    more.
