I decided to practice meditation for the rest of my life because it seem to be extremely beneficial for me, meditation is so much helpful to me so far! I guess by the time I'll hit 60 Minutes = 1 hour! This will be my standarized version! I will keep on doing it for the rest of my life for normal days ( 2 times a day ) If something unexpected happens or if I had a busy schedule I might use different versions, that way I won't stop it ever! 90 Minutes of Meditation ( 2x Day ) ----> Extended Version. 60 Minutes Of Meditation ( 2x Day ) ----> Standard Version. 30 Minutes of Meditation ( 2x Day ) ----> Short Version. 15 Minutes of Meditation ( 2x Day ) ---> Mini Version. I will usually be using the Standarized version! I might also use the extended version too but only if I have so much tile to spare like in summar or something! Just to keep the habit going and to never stop the Meditation Lifestyle. I choose the Meditation Lifestyle! For now I will continue until I hit 60 Weeks which is also 60 minutes of Meditation! Guys, what do you think ? @Ūruz - Thanks a lot for starting this wanderful life changing challenge! I would love to hear your opinion on this!
Question Regarding Meditation! - What is the standard Meditation to You ? - Daily 30 Minutes per Session x2 a day ( Morning / Evening ) Or - Daily 1 Hour per Session x2 a day ( Morning / Evening ) When I think about it - we can't do much of meditation because we have other tasks to do - plus we are limited in terms of hours - so what's the standarized version in which a person should continue doing it no matter what for the rest of his / her life according to you ? @Ūruz - Your opinion matters in here! I just want to know what's the standard version that everyone could do on a daily basis ? In other words what's so common to do ? 30 minutes a session or 1 hour two times a day ??
@Mr.Tony Your plan to meditate 15 to 90 minutes twice a day, depending how much time you have, sounds like a good plan to me! As far as standard version, I think one hour once a day is good standard. But if you gonna meditate twice a day 30 minutes per session is probably enough. All though I don't really think there is such a thing as too much meditation either. If you want to go to the next level then the real meditation would be to meditate all day when doing things, like the Power of Now method that Eckhart Tolle teaches for example, if you can do it all day every day then that's some hardcore monk stuff! But honestly I don't feel like I should be giving advice at this point, cause my own meditation schedule has not been working out recently; been kind of depressed, so it's been hard to get myself to do anything productive. So it feels weird to give advice when my own stuff is not together. But I see you've been absolutely rockin' it though, so that's motivating to see! Keep it up friend!
Thank you so much for you beautiful reply Üruz - I think you are right, 30 minutes x2 seem like a a proper standard version that everyone should usually do but they don't... I guess for now I will probably highly stick to the one of 1 hour, but in case I moved else werz or I had a busy schedule I'll just go to the 30 mins's ones! Besides, what's this Meditation that Eckhart Tolle teaches about ? Also I guess it's good to have a ( Mini Versions ) when it comes to meditation and other habits! Especially with something unexpected! That might ruin your whole program and send you back to that old lifestyle....Damn I don't even want to remind myself of it, No descipline, No Routine, No Good Lifestyle, PMO... I'm sorry if I made you remember that old lifestyle as well - so sorry for that... Stay strong @Ūruz - You are a great man my friend.
Day 159 It's a good day with some good meditations. Had 3 sessions today. Maybe I will build on it if I feel like it. 30 minutes: focus meditation 15 minutes: projection 45 minutes of meditation - DONE
23/09/2023: Morning Meditation: Day: 176 Week: 26 Month: 6 26 Minutes - Mindfulness Meditation - DONE ------------------------------------------- Evening Meditation: Day: 176 Week: 26 Month: 6 26 Minutes - Breathing Meditation - DONE
He teaches a technique of mindfulness meditation that can be done at any waking moment without necessarily needing to sit down, close your eyes and focus on one activity at the cost of other things. So in theory you could meditate while working out at the gym, driving a car, grocery shopping, etc. It's explained better in his book The Power of Now. It's not the only or even the best technique, but it's just one example of a meditation that can be done at any time. I think that type of meditation is like the ultimate hardcore monk mode goal haha.
Day 160 It was a dreary autumn day spent cleaning the house and reading books. Had opportunity to do some meditation. Tried to keep my 3 fixed points in the day for meditation. 30 minutes: focus meditation 30 minutes of meditation - DONE
24/09/2023: Morning Meditation: Day: 177 Week: 26 Month: 6 26 Minutes - Mindfulness Meditation - DONE ------------------------------------------- Evening Meditation: Day: 177 Week: 26 Month: 6 26 Minutes - Breathing Meditation - DONE
Thank @Üruz, It seem that meditation has an oceon of it's own - several types of meditation. I think at certain point we gonna have to stick to the standard version - due to our limited time and also due to our goals, when we started here we didn't want to become monks did we ? Haha, anyways I think I will keep on going until that 1 Hour Meditation, than I will keep on doing it. I guess I will have two version of the standard: One would be 30 Minutes and the Other will Be 1 Hour for each session, Sometimes something unexpected might happen I'll just do the short or the mini version jist to keep the habit and if I had so much time in my hand I would just go on and stick to that 1.5 hours. Anyways, thanks one more time - I'll check that meditation you mentioned - I'll make sure to practice it if I can - Best of luck my friend.
I haven't updated my status here since Thursday, so here it goes a short summary of the last few days: - I didn't meditate Friday; - Meditated for 10 minutes today; - Yesterday happened the best meditation session I have ever had. 14 minutes total. The moment I closed my eyes (I was laying down on the bed, instead of sitting, like I normally do), I didn't move a single muscle, besides my facial ones (more on that latter), and an image came to my head immediately: The image of myself, not as a human, but of a godlike version of myself, a version that possesses immense focus to accomplish his goals, has no problems with addictive behaviours, and is adored by those around him. Not the "adoration" that comes from social media, but true, natural, adoration. I didn't think consciously of this image, it came naturally to me when I closed my eyes, and... I smiled. I've been reading a lot, not just about fighting porn addiction, but also on reducing the negatives of new technologies in my life, while enjoying their benefits, by applying a philosophy of digital minimalism. I've drastically reduced my phone usage (deleted most apps and even the browser), and have been doing one thing at a time: Driving without music, walking without music, eating without checking my phone, etc. That gave me new clarity on life, and I believe that I can become, at least, a more modest, but still amazing, version of that godlike being that I saw in my Saturday's meditation. Besides that image, I was able to really focus on the sounds around me, like the sound of planes flying over my house, the kitchen clock's ticking, and my cat eating his food. For a moment, I felt like I transcended our three dimensional existence, and, from a higher dimension, fully perceive what was happening "below". Today I wasn't able to reach this hyperfocused, "Transcendental" state of mind, but it is encouraging to know that, with more practice, I will get there.
Day 161 A nice day. A quiet day. Met my girl early today and brought her home early. Did my morning and evening meditation. Was able to get some minutes in. 15 minutes: focus meditation 20 minutes projection 35 minutes of meditation - DONE
