So after six months of nofap, I am now fighting the dreaded prostatitis. Feels like sitting on golf balls at some days and been to my urologist multiple trips now and he’s trying to help but nothing seems to be working. I’ve read horror stories of this stuff lasting for countless years I guess my question is is, is it temporary and my prostate just has to find the new normal? Or is this something I might have to deal with for the rest of my life. TIA for any advice. Luckily mine is not debilitating but it is extremely aggravating and just uncomfortable.

Hi Drummer1989! I was born in 1989 (too?).

I think one idea would be that the connection between NoFap and prostate problems is a myth. Even a myth designed to encourage us to start relapsing so we lose our power.

Prostate problems could be cause by other things like diet, lack of exercise.

That's just one idea. I mean I see how that idea could be super dangorous because it would make people keep pushing off the biological needs and really F themselves up. SO I see how sometimes that mentality could be dangerous.

But what can a no fapper do about it? Go back to PMO? I mean thats got a whole nother host of problems. It's not like I could medically administer PMO to myself... I'd lose control and go all the way to the other extreme.

In 6 months did you have any releases at all? Wet dreams, or and O with woman? 6 months sounds like a LONG time to have 100%semen retention the whole time. But in taoism it even said the male should only ejaculate like once a freakin' year.

I think males are very disempowered by all this pressure to ejaculate. But also the resources for circulating the cerebro spinal fluid properly are not widely accessible. Its not like the dad teaches his son when he's 12. Hey, son, heres how you bring your life force energy up from your chakra (or whatever its called). But maybe without that more mystical kind of practice, prostatis is more likely to occur.

This is all just my speculations :)

    Hey PMO,

Yeah my birth year is 1989, thanks so much for your thorough and kind reply. I have not retained semen constantly for that long. I have had sex with my wife probably 4-5 times and had a handful of wet dreams in there as well. The funny thing is is two days after ejaculation is when the prostatitis really flared up and is at its worst pain wise. Abstinence seems to keep the pain level much lower. I know I can’t go back to PMO because my head feels so much clearer and I like where I’m headed with that but this prostatitis has me at my wits end. But I know I’ll get through it or learn to live with it, I know it won’t kill me.

Thanks Drummer1989. Yeah I guess a lot of people are concerned NoFap is unsafe due to prostate issues. Holding in too much semen. I don't know! I will just see how my own experience goes... But I hope you will be okay.

I appreciate it, I definitely don’t wish this on my own enemies. Really hoping my body can learn to find a new normal eventually and readjust. I’ve also been fighting bad constipation, have no clue if that’s tied together or not. On another note have we had any reports of people recovering from this?

I hope some more people come to your thread to give insights. Otherwise do you know how to search forums? Here is the search link.

if you type "Prostotis" (sorry dont remember exact spelling LOL) i bet lots of threads will come up.

About constipation. yes I get that to. I think due to anxiety/stress. But do you know about squatting to poo? I started squatting to poo years ago. It needs to be a full squat, not just a foot stool. Set up a stainless steel bowl with soap water to catch your poop, right on the floor. Squat down to it and go. Dump in toilet. Clean bowl.

Its a lot more work and kinda seems dangerous. But let me tell ya. My bowels really flow when I just squat. There is research on how western toilets put the poop tract at the wrong angle.

I still get some constipation and IBS but I was a lot worse before. Some people take acidophilus or greek yogurt or beets for constipation too. But you gotta try squatting, at least once.
